To the small subset of the community that thinks crit removal on Ashe is bad

With IE, PD, and Shiv, your passive bonus damage is 223%.

On every hit after the first.

Huge, huge buff to Ashe's damage in the lategame (if you're risky and avoid a defensive item).

the passive BONUS-damage is 123%, the total damage on the AA is 223% the crit you usually gain from those 3 items would increase your AA-damage by 113% in average Her passive smply grants 10% aditional damage from the beginning and flattens out the damage curve.

Champion Skin1 votes

Well the reason for that 10% additional damage is that the first hit doesn't Crit (since her passive slow isn't applied yet)

Sire Hippington3 votes

it isn't really hard to land your W befor the first AA, you know?

We all know what's gonna happen. Riot's gonna release the rework with numbers that are way too low. The attempt to balance the loss of her extra gold with her new permaslow and crit-replacement mechanic will result in her being UP. Like most champion reworks.

Then, after between 3 and 8 patches, Riot will slowly buff her. Then she'll be played all over the world in heavy initiation/peel comps. (Unless assassins take over again by then).

or they will go other way around and release her op then literaly gut her and leave her to die in a corner

Sire Hippington2 votes

Lol, in her curretn state on PBE she's even more broken than release Xin... If she's realeased with those numbers she will be permaban in less than a week, followed by massive gutting in the next patch.

My problem with the Ashe rework is that it's inelegant as fuck and only serve to highlight how FUCKING TERRIBLE crit chance is for EVERYONE.

Imagine they decided to keep Dodge Chance and then just reworked Jax to gain %DR for each dodge chance he had instead of having a %change to dodge. Wouldn't that just be staggeringly stupid?

It's bad if the Jinx with the same items and more range crits you three times in a row. Which, by the way, with the same items, Jinx has a 42% chance of getting three crits in a row. OR, instead, she could get a Bloodthirster, only crit half the time, but for 200 more damage.

Oh, and Ashe is still immobile, and her ult still gets completely shut down by Mikael's... or Cleanse... Or QSS.

Earl Eulrich4 votes

oh wow, a 42%change to "outplay". Yea, that´s clearly the more healthy mechanic.

Though I tend to agree on the ultimate, it shouldn´t be affected by crucible.

Champion Skin1 votes

Though the thing with Jinx... is if she crits with her rockets she can chunk your entire team down....AoE Crits OP... not really but they are really strong

ModWulf Helhammer3 votes

And Jinx is mobile?

once she scores a kill

And it's terrible for the Jinx if she gets 3 non-crits in a row, which at 50% crit chance is just as likely as getting 3 crits in a row. The expected DPS Jinx gets is not any different than what Ashe gets. She has the potential to get more damage, but she has an equal chance to get less damage.

Variance is not going to just grant people random crit streaks all the time. It's going to screw people exactly as often as it's going to help them.

Jinx has a 42% chance of getting three crits in a row.

Actually not. League doesn't use straight RNG, it uses psuedo-RNG that lowers variance. Getting a very lucky or unlucky streak is much less likely with this system than with a straight RNG system. Also worth remembering that she still has significant chances to get screwed by RNG and get a streak of no crits.

ashes new rework makes her op every hit slows and thats just crap try to run nope your lowed forever so get ready to be qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq with the hundreds of shots that does

Yeah I definitely see ashe becoming FotM strong when this rework is released. Especially with Jinx being nerfed.

Just like Bard was supposed to be OP as hell?

Bard is OP as hell though.

50% of the time he single handedly causes his team to loose every team fight. XD

Narasimha1 votes

The correct term is broken.

PubgamerAU1 votes

Uh. I've never thought Bard would be OP, even pre-release. I never thought for a second he would be anything but a late game support.

Auryiel1 votes

Whoever thought that has little to no grasp on game balance

This seems like a very very good passive and to have free slows is always something good. The only problem I had with Ashe before the rework is her lack of mobillity but I mean it's not that needed.

Atleast this is going to be very fun to test out!

I am not so worried about the crit loss, as I am the bonus gold loss.

Volt Cruelerz1 votes

She basically kills squishes in two hits late game and can press Q to instantly stack Black Cleaver. She'll be fine (not to mention going into Legolas mode is incredibly fun).

Tin Tarantino1 votes

As an Ashe player I'm expecting her to be almost perma ban worthy if the changes go live as is, I've already got a few builds ready for her new kit.

On every hit after the first.

Huge, huge buff to Ashe's damage in the lategame (if you're risky and avoid a defensive item).

IE + PD + Shiv gives an ADC 80% crit chance and 250% crit damage so your average damage would be Attack Damage x [(0.8)2.5 + 0.2(1)] = Attack Damage x 2.2 (Or 220% bonus damage)

So the rework basically takes out the RNG, but the extra damage is literally 3% extra. It's nothing, especially when you consider that the first auto will never benefit from this passive. If you consider that, it's actually small nerf.

Honestly they should rework ALL adcs to function with crit the way ashe does. But giving her bonus damage instead of crit is NOT a buff, unless they want to increase the amount of bonus damage she gets per % of crit.

Battlecast Sona1 votes

It's a buff because unless she's dueling another ADC her damage will be much more consistent and sustained.

This is what ADCs are valued for, especially against tanks (and she's great at shredding them with the new Q volley and black cleaver). Sure, if she trades 10 AAs with another ADC she will most likely die to a lucky crit, but that was Ashe before anyway. It perfectly complements Ashe's playstyle by rewarding her for keeping her passive up on people (which you want to do while kiting anyway) and actually gives her a better opportunity to deal high damage with each attack (rather than the plink HUGE CRIT plink plink plink HUGE CRIT plink).

Additionally, with her Q up at 5 stacks with full build it does like 500 bonus physical damage a hit at the moment. So you'll be outdamaging a traditional carry at that point anyway.

Except other ADCs also have abilities that they will be using to enhance their damage, so I don't think you'll be outdamaging them. Maybe matching their damage. Ashe needed a steroid for the simple reason that every other ADC had one and she didnt.

If Kalista's dash was affected by slows, Ashe could be a potential counter to Kalista.

Blancmark1 votes

I only really used her crit passive effectively when playing support Ashe (aka Princess Permaslow), since I only really attacked enemy champs in lane with it, more time to charge up.

I gues that's not possible anymore. Will have to see what the new kit does.

ZerglingOne1 votes

Not even "after the first" since both her ult and her Volley apply it as well. Chances are, every hit is going to be empowered in most cases.

It is. She dashes considerably slower (in terms of the movement speed) while slowed.
