Poppy is quite frankly WEAK A'F ...

You can barely lane with her because all other champs can out damage you ESPECIALLY because her ultimate is a complete non-factor. Heck, I can only see her being placed in jungle or support now lol.. and even then that's iffy. RIP poppy ill miss u bby

I played Poppy constantly before the rework. It's easy to stun people that position themselves near the walls. Try playing people who are smart enough not to be near the walls. You shouldn't have to rely on such situational CC in order to out-damage someone.

Not only that, but her W, which prevents gap-closers excluding blinks, doesn't even put abilities on cooldowns such as Diana's R.

Diana's R doesn't go on cooldown after it's been interrupted, and it's been like that for a year now.

Then that is my fault then, I didn't know that. It still doesn't make up for how weak she is. She is lackluster compared to any other champ unless that champ is equally as trash as she is right now.

Meh, i just got trashed by a jungle Diana so i don't share your point of view on that.

... Jungle poppy is actually damn good now that you mentioned it! Her clearing abilities and mana costs are way better than her previous iterations, and her numerous methods of applying CC is outstanding.

Also... "Her ult is a complete non-factor". Are you kidding? Maybe you aren't using it right:

  1. You want to quickly activate the short knockup most of the time. The knockup duration is LOOOOONG giving you and your ally enough time to dish out unopposed damage + further displace them with your E if you have it up during a gank.

  2. You only want the full charge to peel, escape, or just screw with your opponent during a teamfight to separate certain core peeps peeps from their team.

Aside from her long cooldowns and sometimes her "short" R doesn't activate for whatever reason, she's actually fine imo. I think you haven't given her much time.

The only problem with the short knock up is that champs knocked up with her ult are untargetable. So while it can set up things it can be hard to use in teamfights effectively like that. It's better as peel or being used a delay (since the knockup duration is long).

As for herself, I've actually found her to be fine outside of her ult just being wonky because of the untargetability it grants. Though mind you the problem is people have been building her tank or juggernaut which she doesn't do that well at (ironically since that is how they reworked her). Instead I've found a crit build is great on her, with Rapid Firecannon being her main itemitem 3094 along with Thunderlord's Decree for extra burst. It gives her great harass since it increases the range of her passive by a ton. Then build an IE item 3031 . After that build to taste. It works surprisingly well and if you stun a squishy you can one shot them like old Poppy.

Top lane Poppy is dead. She's extremely weak in lane phase against most top laners, especially the ones that are meta at the moment.

And before you say "git gud" to me, here's my experience with the old Poppy.

http://champion.gg/champion/Poppy

She has a less than 40% win rate among Platinum and higher ranked players in the top lane. It's the lowest of any top laner on this patch. Just to put it into perspective, Ryze has the second lowest at almost 47%. Yeah I know a lot of people are still in the process of learning how to play her to her full ability, but I'll eat my hat if her win rate goes above 43%.

If you want to see a full breakdown of why I think she's really bad top lane, visit here: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/FWXNp6iM-has-anyone-had-any-real-success-with-new-poppy?comment=0003

You are just playing new poppy as old poppy and she doesnt work like that. Try to initiate a trade with your passive so you have an extra shield, get near and Q, step back, if your enemy is dumb enought to chase you just smash them against a wall, it always work for me when going against riven, she gets tunnel vision and ignores that theres a wall near her.

I do understand that you have to play differently than old Poppy. However, there are flaws with some of the things you said.

  1. If you use your passive to hit a champion, the buckler flies to a random location. It's very unpredictable; it could even land next to the enemy champion, in which case you would have to wait 18 seconds to try it again.

  2. If the buckler flies next to you and you pick it up for the shield (or you use the passive to last hit a creep for the instant shield), 9 out of 10 times the enemy champion will back off once he sees that you have a shield. It only lasts 4 seconds. After those 4 seconds are up, the enemy champion has an 18 second window to win all trades.

  3. It is incredibly hard for Poppy to force a fight without using her E to initiate. If that E doesn't connect with a wall, you lose a ton of damage and CC.
