is every champ going to have untargetability

SlashStriker··3 votes·649 views

So i main champion that has that has untargetability but no hard cc MasterYi

Xayah - root + untargetability Reksai - knock up + untargetability Ekko - overloaded kit (runs faster than Yi) + untargetability and list goes on

So aint fair since all those champions got untargetability to give Yi hard cc as well? I mean he is slowly losing his uniqueness and what he does now many other champions does it

He lost his uniqueness a long time ago man. And giving Yi hard CC with his current kit would be...cancerous as hell.

Hethalean1 votes

oh come on. surely there is power left in his kit enough to make his q stun everyone it hits? lol

It would be interesting if Riot could allow Yi players to choose the pathing for Alpha Strike in some way before launching it instead of today's half-RNG model. That would give him back his slashy-slashy-faster-faster iconic trademark, give him more agency on his mobility, and allowing him to be high elo competitive without being that big of a stat-stick.

But idk.

But Yi got increased dmg passively or true dmg if active used. Yi cannot be affected by slow on R(that deny many spells - and FH) And Yi got reduce cooldown on kill... Should I proceed? You get my point. It's not because he doesn't have CC that he's losing his uniqueness. He's an unique champion. And won't loose it this soon even against newer champ such as Ekko. Yi is one of the few champions that can easily rip off the enemy team of their HP with only one spell, one of the few that can cut in no matter what you've made off...

That's only if he's either very fed, build crits or both, and without any hard CC coming his way so his onslaught is never stopped.

Otherwise, Q is for 80-90% of the time (exaggeration to make a point), used as either a dodge or a mobility spell rather than for damage. Its damage is usually only significant enough to do clears and pushes rather than to kill. Most of his damage would still come from AA under most situations.

I know right. That's exactly why I used "can" in my sentence rather than being generalist. The build affects the damage output. He has the possibility to do so, he can't do it every game.

I know usually Yis are keeping it for dodging - in fact that's usually on of the main difference between a good and a bad Yi. But even if it keeps it for dodging he dish out some good damage through it. But yeah since he has 3 abilities that reinforce auto attacks yeah his damage come from there.

Vayne and Fiora does true damage based on max health

Yi cannot be affected by slow on R(that deny many spells - and FH)

Olaf gives 0 fks about all types of cc

And Yi got reduce cooldown on kill...

Katarina gets full resets on takedown

Lmao, what's your point here ? I just compared Yi to the champions with untargettable ability and you think you're gonna take down my argument by using not one but 4 champions that doesn't have untargettable ability to oppose me? You've got it wrong.

those champions that got untargetability got hard cc at the same time and that ain't fair since Yi got no hard CC

Reksai got true damage too Xayah's ability can crit like Yi's Alpha Strike

Ekko is an assassin with delay effect on every single ability. Included and ESPECIALLY THE STUN PART. He announced that he cast it, there is a zone that appeared before the stun zone is activate. You've got plenty of time to get out of it if you've got a dash and if you're not you can outplay it or guess where he's going to land.

Rek'Sai is a fighter she has to get a form of CC to be a threat - dmg excluded. Vi, Lee, Hecarim are all fighters and all have hard CC. And she needs to build her her gauge before getting the true dmg part. While Yi just need to activate it.

What again? Xayah's abilities can't crit. Her E does SCALE with crit but that's it. Her Root needs the enemy to be hit by three feathers: it means that without ult she needs to auto three times to land it. And if the enemy moves on either side she won't be able to root them.

lol there are so many champions, whos abilities can crit, like it matters at all. A lot of champions got true damage as well. It's not something unique. Why does Yi has to have untargetability + hard CC? Just because few champions have it, doesn't mean, that every champion with untargetability must have hard CC. And lack of hard CC makes Yi have more power in his kit overall, so there's nothing wrong with Yi.

vayne is an adc who dies in 2 seconds and need 3 hits to get that true damage which yi applies faster

Fiora has to position herself around the enemy and still gets less true damage then yi for it

katarina a much smaller window then yi to get her reset.

I've played plenty of Yi, he does his job like no other. the untargetability doesnt make Yi, its his status as the "strongest Melee jungle carry" ( as in his damage )

As a yi main i REALLY dont agree at all. none of those champs have the same access to their untargetability as yi. all of those champs have their untargetability on their ults while yi's got it on a high damage low CD resetting ability

and none of them can kill an entire team as fast as yi can.

Tbh, Yi's Q is not what we call low CD. Without CDR and AA'ing to reduce the CD, it goes from 18 sec to 14 second CD from lvl1 to 5, that's not exactly short.

Yi is a risk champ in this regard. It's like "Wanna low CD? Sure, you have it, if you continuously AA or that you've killed somebody that is, but too bad you also die in like 0.5 seconds and your saving grace has a 35 sec CD, just so you know."

But yes, it's shorter than ultis.

......

And honestly, Yi killing the entire team impression really has to die down a bit. AP Yi has died for like what, 5 years, 6 years already? Soz I lost count. Why still talk about Yi as if that's a thing? Yi today struggles to fight any 1v2 when the enemies have a brain, or hard CC, and he has to systematically pick them off 1 by 1 under most practical set-ups. That's not really what we call fast. AP Yi was, not anymore. Unless you're against Cardboard 17 but we don't talk about that.

But I suppose if you're talking purely about potential alone, then well it's not technically wrong I suppose.

i never played yi's monkey builds back in the day, im a crit yi all the way.

I kill entire teams when I get a good opportunity and Im not playing badly at the time; Crit Yi by mid-late can erase squishies in 2-4 autos.

and 14-18 seconds is REALLY short compared to an ult's cooldown is what i was getting at yeah, the fact that it resets aside. (i always get essence reaver by late so i get 30% CDR and infinite mana)

If crit yi kills one person with Q, the rest of the enemy team was probably hit with his Q too (as well as shiv), and with the reset hes ready to do it again to the next lowest person, meaning he can mop up teams FAST

You just have to wait until the enemy team has blown cooldowns or is being CC'd or distracted; yi requires teamwork to function unless outrageously fed but mark me the dude is a destroyer of entire teams.

I'm not arguing for his power level, that doesnt matter much to me. Im just saying his kit shouldnt have hard CC

Yeah I was just saying that Yi's Q CD is not really short when compared to normal spells, but I did say that it's short if we're comparing to ultis.

Under the pretense of crit Yi and getting past the CC before you head out to do your work, then yeah I can see why you refer to him as a team killer because he is one when those 2 conditions are met (though it's not favoured these days given how fast he dies, the setup required to pull that off and the backlash if that doesn't work).

But yeah you're also right that Yi should never have hard CC, I thoroughly agree on that point.

Xayah's root requires a set up time and precision. Her untargetability is an ult.

Reksai's untargetability is an ult. Ekko's untargetability is an ult and does not run faster than Yi. He can grab a quick burst of movement speed from his passive and that ends quickly, Yi's ult does not and in fact gets extended on kills, as well as becoming immune to slows.

So no, Yi does not need hard CC. Now let me exaggerate your champion like you did others.

Yi: Can't be slowed, untargetability, damage reduction, heal and auto reset, true damage, extra auto attacks, untargetability reset that also doubles as mobility, movement and attack speed steroid.

Nerf Yi?

Kled is untargetable while hes dismounting too. i think hes even invulnerable and absorbs any damage that went over the health of skaarl.

really fucking anoying. especially since it also makes turrets lose inerest in him, it makes dives on teh champion downright braindead.
