So now that Dorans ring is utter garbage. I found this is a great alternative.

Dorans ring changes are so bad and offer nothing to mages. I tried a new alternative I found works great in its place.

I want to start out by saying the risk to this start is that you don't go into lane with at all so you will be playing smart and defensively. However the Seal and Charm start offers a great verity of build paths right from the start and i found it was hugely efficient to start them rather the Dorans ring.

Right off the bat goes into so you've already got a head start on that plus you get your mana regen which is great, Starting the charm really helps with farming, i went against an ahri who started Ring and she was regretting it early, she ran out of mana so fast she had to back 3 times while i was able to farm up for my first back easily, the results for Ahri was disastrous, i was ahead in level, farm and CS and the moment i got tear (Which was reletivly quick) i was able to out herass her. Starting Dorans ring was just disastrous in every way.

So seal gives you 2 options here and both are better than Dorans Ring. Assuming you do well and get ahead you can upgrade seal into and get really snow bally, thats good!

But assuming you do bad, you can always sell the seal for something better anyway like you normally would Doran's Ring. Dark Seal has the same stats as Dorans ring but trade in the 60 health for 100 mana and the snowbally passive + better potion healing. So win or lose the dark seal will be granting you better effects and better options then dorans ring would.

TLDR: garbage and should never ever be bought by a mage ever again. + is an amazing alternative and offers a safer farming lane at the cost of an aggressive 1v1 lane, at least until the first back.
