Why are there master and challenger smurfs in my plat games?

If you guys look at my match history there was a kalista on the enemy team last game. My first thought when I saw kalista was "hehe easy win". However, it was anything but easy. The second the first teamfight erupted it was very clear that this Kalista was not a plat level player. As Irelia I literally couldn't even touch her after I had blown Q. I know Kalista isn't good as a champion but I honestly felt like just AFKing because that player made me feel so useless. I looked up this person after the game and it turns out they were 19-1 W/L which is a 95 PERCENT WINRATE. It became clear to me that this person was 100% a master/challenger smurf. The question is, how is it fair that us plat players have to lane vs these people and deal with this bullshit when they play at a whole different level. This person probably had been playing for much longer than any of us yet we're forced to try and beat them when they have teammates at the same level as us. It's really not fair and Riot needs to find a way to stop smurfing. I know that there will be replies saying "lel get gud". Well, I want to get good but unfortunately getting stomped doesn't really help me do anything.

Matchmaking is utterly and completely broken right now. I was solo queueing and got two level 20 people on my team against three diamonds and two platinums. Basically you just need to get lucky. Play a few thousand more games. No need to git gud.

Cause Master and challenger timers are really long. Platinum is the place to go...

Lucky you. I remember one of my first breakthroughs while I was struggling in B5 came when I faced a Silver 3 player in lane. He totally shat on me. While it was disheartening, it did show me what was possible and that I was still limited as a player. It gave me a clear focus on where I was weak and more importantly, what would make me stronger. Today I'm Silver myself, still low elo, but much better than I was at the time. I've only had the pleasure of playing against two or three smurfs over the course of nearly 1000 ranked games, but I always learned something new when I encountered one. I envy you, I'd love to see what this Kalista did to be so effective, so I can apply it to my own play. The value of being stomped by a smurf is so much greater than losing a typical game.
