as an ADC main I hate the tank meta (read before downvote)

Adc's get a lot of bad rep because most of us act like self entitled bastards I myself am guilty of this at time.

but that doesn't excuse the fact that adc's unless fed are horrendously under powered in this current meta

before I go into anything I'd like to define the adc's role. The job of the adc is to sit in the back line systematically pumping out damage and kill the enemy team

sounds easy right


Any good adc has to master something called kiting also called orbwalking in which they attack while moving, something easy to pick up and hard to master

next is itemization most adcs core build isitem 3031 item 3046 item 3035 item 3072 item 3006 +defensive item

the build is simple it loads all of the things the adc could want in one kit the only problem is the adc's build is a race against time to get it

Now on to tanks the tanks job is to engage fights and soak up damage usually applying cc

tank builds are very situational and can't really be defined but if i were to make a generic one it would beitem 3717 item 3143 item 3065 item 3111 item 3075 item 3102

the 3 items to look at here are randuins omen, thornmail, and cinderhulk

If you notice something about both builds it that they counter each other tank and adc's fight in an arms race of sorts, but with the tanks case they are winning it... hard

if you look at the three main stats in league health ad and ap you''l realize that ad is inherently weaker both ap and health have items that increase ti percentage wise while ad has none this is because with ad it affects you aa damage so it should be weaker, But now since tanks are so incredibly tanky that strengh is weakened making ad a more useless stat than before which is why AD junglers and mid laners have been replaced by their ap counter parts. This is not bad in and of itself, but this hurts the adc role even more since burst is the name of the game for apc.

now to team fights, in most of them the main goal to to rush the adc then proceed to mow down the rest of the team since they have no more sustained damage. Since apc's are back and tanks are unkillable the adc has no real ways of doing anything meaningful. Especially in the early to mid game where adc's are particularly weak. The adc becomes a sitting duck as either they get aoe cc'ed to death or they go to far away from the team and get assasinated.

the adc's role has practically been killed by the meta. In the lcs more long ranged adc's have been picked now because they can't survive otherwise and more nerfs will inevitably come to the adc role I feel. The adc's is a sad shadow of its former self I don't want them to become the overpoweed damage beasts that they used to be, but I want them to have more choices in the way they can build and be played not necessarily stronger but able to keep up in the meta while still retaining their weakness


TDLR The adc is useless right now since they are unable to do their job. Tanks are too strong,and the shifts in the meta because of that are making adc's even weaker. they need be changed to be able to keep up in meta, but still have the same weaknesses

swap out pd or IE depending on the adc for Botrk, the % health damage will make you not hate yourself for picking adc, also botrk + BT is enough lifesteal to outlast a thornmail

ADCs exist to take towers and other objectives safely and quickly from range even during a siege.

The only reason they are capable of applying significant damage over time to champions is to keep tanks and bruisers honest and force them to actually buy tank items if they want to yolo dive into the enemy team.

Sir I must call bologna. What are crits except a overall percent boost to aa damage.

Edit: Can't believe I forgot this. Attack speed is another modifier for aas that increase an adcs damage by attacking faster. So, in fact, adcs have 2 damage multiplying stats and will often have a steroid built into their kit to increase their damage further. Meaning that your argument is very flawed since adcs can build items for crit and aas (just look at your example build) to multiply their damage and will often have something in their kit to further increase dps.
