As a Mid Gold Player I Feel Winning is Based Upon Too Much Luck
Let me set things straight, I am your average, middle-of-the road gold player, and I enjoy playing LOL. I usually do not carry super hard, but I have my moments. As a supp/jung main, carrying is not my strong suit; I do better assisting and peeling for carries. This makes me rely on someone else doing well. Plus, there are 9 other people in the game of which some could be on tilt, some could have a bad internet connection, some could be smurfs, and some could just be poorly matched. Ultimately, for my people (avg. golds) we dream of reaching Plat, but pretty much just have fun playing the game. Winning isn't (and shouldn't) be everything, but it is extremely rewarding and sometimes I crave a solid W. I feel that winning a game is just kind of random. If this is the case, should I be that concerned about it? I mean, I am not a video game pro; I just play for fun. So, should I just play the game with the intent of having fun? It is a competitive game and because of that there is going to be a competitive edge that causes people, from time to time, to become angry and rage (I'll admit it happens to me sometimes and I usually the best route is to stop playing at this point). There is kind of a catch 22 involved here though. I continue to play the game because I enjoy moving up in the ranks; reaching a goal keeps me interested. But, with how much fluctuation there is, I often become discouraged. I guess I am just kind of rambling and sharing my feelings. At the end of the day I have a life and League doesn't matter that much (but it does a little ;) ) Does anyone else share my sentiments?
