Now before you get your downvoting sticks out this is but a very simple idea and very easy idea. If you have thoughts and improvements write below and I can edit it.

Adding an option "Roles I refuse to play"

Damn I got autofilled support/top/mid/adc/jungle, I'm gonna lose anyways, might as well run it down mid. Instead of losing all hope for the match, why not remove the negatives of autofill and change it!

The Idea

Primary role, Secondary Role Refused Roles:

Players may refuse to play up to 3 roles, with the more roles refused lowering your chances of finding a match faster.

Any refused Roles you will never be filled into

Benefits? Almost no autofilled inters. Almost everybody will have a role they are familiar with or able to play decently. Mid and top laners might be moved around, but they won't be thrown to the wolves bot lane. A support won't be thrown into the jungle, etc, etc

In theory, that's a good idea

But in reality? That would just make que times longer for everyone, even the people who are willing to autofill

It would be decent-ish if players were able to refuse 1 role, but 3? Nah.

It's not "new". It has been discussed, again, and again, and again since the very start of Position Select almost 3 years ago. I don't have the energy to rehash this discussion once again now...

OR riot could simply remove position selection. So everyone becomes familiar with all 5 roles. Players are so fucking special these days... Just make people select their role as the process of picking happens. First place (highest MMR) picks a role, second MMR gets to pick one of the 4 roles left. AND SO ON.

It is just a better solution to what we had back in 2012 and that shit was better than this autofilled crap.

I'd like a weighted system that considers all 5 roles. Where you put like ~200 where you want with a minimum of 20 on 4 and a max of 90 on 1 with Max and mins on the rest as well.

But maybe you are a fan of 2 roles a lot and the others are meh to you.

OR maybe you are the Autofiller we need, but not the one we deserve.

This would nearly guarantee that after the 3rd phase you are in a match. Since the system does not have to consider which role is needed rather which value so if there is a slot less than 50 open it's yours.

It sounds great in my head.

A better way would be to rank your roles

Like Top>Mid>Support>Jungle>ADC

and let the system pull from top down.
