Do Luden's passive REALLY need to proc on-spell effects?
This exact effect from
was designed mainly to give an AoE option to casters who didn't have that much so their waveclear could keep up against others who already had lots of it in their kits (especially AP assassins, since most of them lack some of it, hence the original movespeed stat this item once had).
But with today's new AP itemisation and Runes reforged, the fact that the "bubbles" from Luden's proc a sh!t ton of stuff at the same time is really overkill. I mean, when I dodge someone's spell in lane, I expect to be rewarded by not getting any damage, BUT if the enemy has
and just touch the Tip of a minion that is somewhat close, whoever gets hit by the bubble just got procced so much on him that just getting hit by the whole spell would pretty much do the same.
A small bubble from Ludens can:
-Make you burn from
-Proc instantly Grievous Wounds from
-Slow you with
-Burn you from scorch
-Proc comet on you (or...)
-Proc Aerye on you_(or...)_
-Help to complete or simply complete electrocute's buildup
-Remove
's protection even if its not a direct spell hit
Casters should be rewarded by landing their spells, they shouldn't have a "get out of prison" kind of effect who can still proc about more than half on their load if they miss the main target. It was ok before since you actually needed full built-items to have an (somewhat still weaker than today though) effect to be carried on and passive effects from items like
were quite weaker back then too. Not only now they are stronger, but there are a lot more impact possible who can come from the new Runes.
Atleast keep it from proccing effects during laning-phase, this would be a start...
all do this shit and it hurts my soul because one luden proc of a creep late game from a
