Irelia or Riven?

Triforce will get buff so Irelia.

Riven is weak and useless currently. Pick Irelia.

Riven tends to have more burst damage. Irelia is tankier and has free tenacity in her passive. Riven is probably slightly more mobile. Irelia has better sustain. In terms of CC they're probably about equal.

Irelia is easier to learn and brings more utility to the team. Riven is more mechanically complicated and at the moment and I don't believe has a very high win rate.

Riven has a more limited play style, while Irelia brings a bit more to the table in terms of versatility. I play a lot of top and I feel riven players are a bit more predictable, while Irelia players all seem to play differently.

A good riven is amazing, at anything lower than expert champ play irelia offers more and is currently better.

Irelia is better. Easier to handle, has sustain, CC, and true damage.

IMO, Irelia is the better option and she will be indirectly buffed next patch (with the changes to Trinity Force and Wit's End).

Irelia can handle many fighters and crushes squishy ranged champions due to her burst and stickiness.

I have both of them. Irelia is an AD Bruiser that can dominate the Mid Game with one damage item. Riven is a resourceless AD Caster that can die from a random Vel'Koz Q.

Irelia is much easier to play and more forgiving of mistakes. A lot of her damage is in her W, which doesn't scale with AD, so its all about how many hits you can get in during a short time frame. Most people grab up Tri-Force for a hefty sheen proc after using E to intiate (you can use Q but it only resets if you kill your target).

Riven is hilarious fun to play with. Everything in her kit scales well with AD. You have to remember to weave in some Auto Attacks between your skills to make the most of your passive. She is very feast or famine, as in if she is behind, she won't be very useful as a front line bruiser.
