Me and a player were talking and i was saying that ADC gets babied through laning phase, and their team sets up kills assuming they aren't obscenely fed or playing Vayne/twitch. Basically saying that that role typically cannot do anything on it's own until late game and even then they get themselves killed because they dont ward.

Monkey with a PC1 votesIt's more like ADCs are more item dependant than most other roles, and as a general rule of thumb is often a high priority target for enemy assassins/mages/bloody everything, so it's often safer to have someone lane with them until they have enough items to not need constant protection.
Throughout specific seasons you even see ADCs mid, like Lucian during BOTRK metas, or Corki/Ezreal/Jhin since they're more Caster types than right click pew pew types.
Anyway my point is that they don't necessarily need someone to baby them until they're not useless, it's more like they're more vulnerable than other classes during the early game.
