After playing Swain a few times again in 3v3

...I have to wonder how my teammates in the past who've played Swain have had trouble coming out ahead with him.

I mean, I haven't played him for probably half a year, and I was still able to put lane pressure out and easily roam to protect my junglers who got invaded through multiple games. I don't even main him, either. I was starting to think he wasn't that good anymore, but I guess it was just those teammates who weren't good?

What do you guys think? Is Swain a difficult champion to get the hang of?

I play TT a lot and he is always on my ban list. Mainly because I don't my team enough to know how to play against him. When I do play against a Swain, I normally camp him pre 6, that is when he is his weakest. Once he is behind and with the constant pressure from my ganks. He is usually not a problem later in the game. But overall he is a strong champion in TT and not that hard to get the hang of, just need to good ult management at lower levels and knowing your limitations.

Try Kassadin if you liked playing Swain in TT. He is another strong and fun champ to play.

I have distinct memories of being called a hacker several times back in 2014 because people had no idea how Swain's ult worked :P

To me he feels like someone who REALLY punishes mistakes but otherwise exists to be outplayed. They compensated for his clunky rework by upping up the ratios on his unreliable Q, and more often than not it boils down to people with a shred of mobility moving away from that zone and as a result all of your damage comes from your ult as you awkwardly walk around.

Still miss being able to instantly CS with the first tick of his old Q. Precision farming early game feels even worse :P
