Tank mains talk a lot about damage creep

As if squishies like it either. Trying to play something like Ashe, Teemo, Soraka or Lux into all the inescapable hard dive champions in this game that can one shot you with minimal counterplay. I use these champions because as a person who primarily plays tanky people like Shyvana, Leona, Sejauni and the like. I feel terrible trying to play any of these champions vs a team with a Vi jungle and LeBlanc mid.

Nobody likes damage creep except maybe streamers who play extremely flashy high burst champions. Stop dividing it up by groups.

damage creep is a meme, it's inverse-defense creep is what really happened

ADCs are dying faster because they don't build defense anymore. season 4 it was like 4 offensive items and 1 defensive, triforce+tank fucks like Vi and Hecarim didn't one-shot you like they do now

making everyone less squishy is the true path to the golden age

I thought the most favourited season/golden age was season 3 the assassin meta

Because there's no damn point to building defensive. Tanks get melted because pen is way too common, especially %pen.

Cooldown reduction overload negates the use of HP stacking, even on top of resistances.

Everyone and their mother these days has a way to shred tanky targets.

The game has essentially become who can kill who first in a classic Western-style draw resulting in a bloodbath as if it's High Noon.

THAT is the state of our game right now.

It doesn't matter what you call it(and in the end it's actually a mix of increaseing offense powers and decreasing defense), what matters is that damage relative to tankiness is to high, especially later on in the game. And that can be fixed by either reduceing damage or increasing tankiness or a mix of both.

How are we dividing groups? Damage creep hurts squishies more than tanks anyway.

Try asking all the tank mains and juggernaut mains who think it hurts them the most and thinks ADC and mage players love damage creep.

Do not lump me in with Big Lincoln.

Hey, he has been making some mighty fine posts as of recently, and his Juggernaut propaganda has even toned down by a few percent. Now a few percent of a billion still leaves a lot but...

what have i done wrong, i don't complain about damage creep

If it's bias against mages or ADCs, it's usually you.

Damage creep wouldn't be bad for tanks if anti-tank itemization wasn't so potent right now.

When a Lucian with BoRK can kill a heavily armored, healthy tank faster than a Vayne, there is something seriously wrong with many things.

Also, welcome back to Gameplay.

Juggernauts are not tanks, and they are hurt badly by damage creep as they thrive in extendet fights. Any class that wants extendet fights is impacted harder by damagecreep. And this is whyt most peopl don't get about tanks. Tanks don't need long fights, they have usually both cc and damage frontloaded in their rotation, they go in, faceroll, and then their team cleans up the mess they created, they do not need to stick around to have impact. Fighters(When balanced properly) need to stick to a target for some time to make their dps work and usually lack big imidate impact. Though on many fighters that theoretically would want to dps in longer fights, damagecreep can amp their burst to allow assasin like playstyles.

And then we have people who want to nerf one of the few champions who give these high damage, bursty, dive yo ass champs the finger.

Lulu

makes a lot of sense amirite?

Lauchmelder2 votes

It actually makes a sense, because it'd force Riot to finally look at this disgusting damage creep instead of saying: "see, there is counterplay"

Knoyle2 votes

Sorry, but that logic feels so flawed. They still nerfed Camille even though Gragas was a counter pick.

Lauchmelder2 votes

Yea well, maybe because Camille had some things that Lulu has not cough a 4 second lockdown on level 6 cough cough true damage cough

damage creep is real and all riot is doing is finding more ways for more damage to be applied in the game... when i make suggestions and logic behind why and how this happen and how to fix it... it usually goes over peoples heads.

but it dont matter , any changes riot does or dont do there is a number of people waiting to write their post bitching about how shitty the game is and how riot has no clue what they are doing.

there is only one true way to make change but no one is willing to go to the extreme that needs to be done to make riot notice. instead you all grandstand and cry and bitch , throw fits in your boards instead of actually taking action

Biggest issue with damage creep is that it required penetration to be high along with defense to be useful. Them toning down armor penetration will help reduce it. I think overall the biggest issue currently is how crit basically feels horrible to use and play against.

6Sfool2 votes

How about the people who play everything? We see damage creep too. I want my tanks to hit like full tank Jarvan (no damage at all) and my adcs to stop ignoring 80% of people's armor.

I mean, we shouldn't have a reason to complain now that we're going to have more tank options (especially for MR). I will complain if Banshee's Veil keeps the 8 second cooldown passive
