Okay now the Gameplay team is just trolling

Nasus: “Siphoning Strike (Q) stack gain on Champion, large minion and large monster kills increased from 6 to 12“

There is no way Nasus needed this buff. There is no way Vayne needed that Q buff.

If you really wanted to buff Nasus’s Q stack, make it to 8, not god damn 12. I’m really just appalled on how the gameplay team is just balancing, its ridiculous. They’re just adding so much to every single champion, not actually buffing the defences nor nerfing all other types damage like items and burst champions. If season 9 is just pure damage and always focusing on Proplay, then league really has just lost its magic touch of uniqueness.

Nerf his wither duration/strength or his E base damage and I wouldn't have as much of a problem with this

nasus needs a rework and doesn't need to be buffed into oblivion because his kit is old and bad. fuck nasus

Doge20209 votes

?

All you gotta do is all in early and prevent him from stacking a shit ton early. He has shit early game that can easily be taken advantage of through basic minion wave control and proper ganks from your jungler. Pushing into him constantly is gonna help him and give him a chance to run you down with wither, and give his jungler a free gank.

As somebody who mains nasus I can tell you that nasus is one of the worst champs when people know basic wave management and trading patterns.

He is extremely balanced as a scaling champ. Shit early game with mediocre mid/late game. He is even more shit now because of the early game damage meta we are in, which is extremely bad for nasus because of how weak he is early on.

Doge20206 votes

Yeah but I don’t only play nasus. I am playing a shit ton more champs than just nasus.

If you actually play nasus for like 2-3 games then you will find that what I say is true. Ask any nasus main in high elo or even any top lane player in high elo and they will all say the same thing.

At least he’s not a pu66y, you made new profile and now you talk shit here

Śhunpo8 votes

"He has shit early game", he takes Grasp and Tonic and now he has an early game. If that doesn't work he can just hug tower for 10 years.

Doge20204 votes

But then he loses experience, stacks, and gold by hugging the tower 24/7. Grasp does help him but only slightly, and it doesn’t really help that much because of how small the heal is and the health gained from it. Champs like darius and renekton are still gonna outtrade you by a large margin early on even with grasp and tonic.

Śhunpo3 votes

Then don't trade with them? Let them shove?

Doge20202 votes

An experienced player is gonna take advantage of Nasus’s weak early game and bounce the wave to their side, freeze the wave, then zone Nasus from the wave so he can’t break the freeze or CS. And if Nasus walks up to try and break the freeze or anything then the enemy can just run him down easily. Getting grasp doesn’t help because you have to auto attack the wave to build up the mark, which pushes it.

Letting the enemy laner shove you in is only viable in low elo where most laners don’t know about wave management that much and will constantly shove the nasus in.

Don’t bother explaining anything they simply don’t understand, when these kinds of players see juggernaut type champion getting buffed on PBE, let me say that again P-B-E, they lose their shit, remember when Darius got buff before worlds? People lost it and now he’s again at 49% win rate.

Doge20203 votes

I guess you are right lol.

it frustrates me to see these people complain that a dogshit champ is the most op one out there when there are clear weaknesses to that champ. And this buff ain’t gonna help him at all.

In a joking way: lol I taught myself

My serious answer: I have a creative mind so I can “imagine” and create stuff easily. I work better with concepts and visual actions than calculating numbers. So something like flash over poppy ult, wither her, then run her down makes more sense than “q is gonna deal 400 damage, right after I flash I am gonna wither so I can q more, then E to shred 50 of her 150 armor so my q deals 500 damage” or some shit like that. And I know that the math is most likely wrong in that last sentence, like I said I am bad with quick math lol

rawiazam15 votes

and proper ganks from your jungler

if that's the only counterplay that means that means that the champion is shit and needs to be nerfed

Doge20202 votes

Notice the “and” that implies that there are many ways of counterplay. Each champ is unique. Nasus also has CC, true damage, sustained true damage (like Vayne W) and grevious wounds as examples of his many counterplay options.

Dashes fuck him over hard as he can’t easily reach the dashing target without using flash. Stealth also fucks him over because a large portion of his burst on squishies is on Q, which is single target.

I'm honestly fine with everything about Susan apart from his Wither, you can't do anything about it.

Kairoptra8 votes

Yeah... normally I give Riot the benefit of the doubt when it comes to testing changes, but this made me scratch my head.

Jamaree6 votes

It is literally...6 more power to his Q every 3 waves, do people REALLY think this is gonna be the buff to push him over the edge, really?

FOR JUSTICE5 votes

hmmmm. but nasus is the veigar of toplane.... *flash forward to future gameplay balance team patch notes 8.26

"veigar's early game is lacking due to our superimposed time scaling to make sure games end quickly, so we're looking to buff how fast he can reach his point of no return, just like runterras greatest evil power should be"

phenomenal evil 5 AP per champion takedown -> 15 per champion takedown

baleful strike 1 per minion/monster kill -> 6 per minion/monster kill

Áilith2 votes

it'd still be 1 ap per minion/monster kill if we're using the same logic tho

Shuriman Curator5 votes

I'd rather get more HP/level,armor/level than this tbh

Doge20204 votes

Well the problem with nasus that I feel the most in this current meta is that he doesn’t reach his powerspike amount of stacks (usually 400-500 stacks) before the game is decided. He can’t get his stacks fast enough for him to be an influence at all. And +12 won’t help that much if nasus can’t get the kills in the first place.

Sure +12 seems like a lot, but if nasus is getting enough kills with q to make the +12 stacks per kill worth it then he is already at his “unstoppable” point and it would already be super hard to stop him even if the stack amount per champ was +6.

I like it because I think it will hopefully help him reach the optimal amount of stacks earlier in this fast paced meta. BUT I do agree that +12 does seem like a little much, I think just +10 or +8 is a fine balance for a champ kill. And just so you know nasus gains most of his stacks from minions and cannon minions, this buff specifically says CHAMP so I don’t think this will help him too much. Based on what I heard you still get +6 from cannon minions. EDIT: nvm it’s to cannons and monsters too lol. He is still weak as fuck early and is very kiteable

I do agree he’s very kiteable and how the state of the game is just very short, but stacking with now 12 instead 6 just looks absurd. If ever the damage on everything gets nerfed some how this season, he’ll definitely be top picked.

Doge20201 votes

12 stacks per cannon, champ or monster kill isn’t that much when you see that nothing else in his kit got buffed. This kinda reinforces the idea that if you get caught by a juggernaut then you are supposed to die.

A potential nerf riot could do if nasus becomes overbearing is, “when in R form, CC (except suppressions and knockups) are increased by 10-15% on Nasus”. This way he still is kiteable, but it doesn’t become something that pushes nasus out of the game.

Áilith2 votes

I don't think getting 6 more stacks per 3 waves/champ kill will push Nasus to being a top pick, if they buffed his base stack from like 3 to 4/5 then I could see that, but with this change, he isn't even affected that much, because it honestly doesn't give him that much bonus damage unless he's snowballing hard.

agac42342 votes

yeah and thst the probalem. u cant kill a nasus when his on his "unstoppable" time. because he can just W and Q you and ur dead. nasus isnt fun to play against. he makes it so that u cant move and basicly juts comes up to you and u die. his tanky af. you CAN kite him in late game but when does the game even go to the late game? his early game isnt the worst thing ever. the only ones that can kill him after early game are adcs and mages becuase they can kite him and deal dmg to him. nothing else can kill him other thne that and its not fun to play against.

Steps to buffing a juggernaut/tank:

  1. Reduce the CD on his damage
  2. Increase the scaling on his damage
  3. There's no step three

A Bad Nasus2 votes

Try ranking with him for about 5 games just to see how weak he is when compared to the current pace of the game.

Though I will agree that it is a bad sign when Riot's balance team thinks the only way for Nasus to keep up is to add more damage to his kit. They clearly are not interested in addressing the massive power creep this game has seen over the years. Only older players can see this, newcomers have no precedent for comparison other than what they currently experience and Riot would rather attract a wider audience at the cost of strategetic gameplay.

I haven't seen nasus get directly gutted the past few years. He keeps getting indirect buffs from items, runes, etc. and they just keep him where he is.

I know. They don't need to give him such a major buff because it's going to end up being too much. That's what There's such a thing as moderation. That's a huge increase.

I've played LoL since the end of season ( haven't gone beyond gold) but I like to think I have the game knowledge but mechanicaly I blow. I usually take breaks for months at a time, then come back and play for while. Never missed a full season or pre season. But after seeing all this dmg and the direction of the game, idk if I'll play this season. Was gonna start playing again like 3 weeks ago. Nasus buff might be that straw that breaks it for me.

SangreDeNoche2 votes

They've been out of their minds for a while now. I think they're trying to get people to quit the game on purpose. If not I don't understand how anyone can be so grossly incompetent.

Starcraft243ver2 votes

hum. There's 1 canon minion every 3 waves between 1 and 15 minuts So that's around 10 canon minions before 15 minuts. In the nexts 10 minuts it's one every 2 waves so it's another 10 minions.

If nasus stacks perfectly and do not miss any canon minion we are barely talking about 60 stacks by the 15 minuts mark, or 120 by the 25th.

Not a huge buff. It allows nasus to try to take jungle monsters if he's constantly bullied out of lane.

ModKnightsKemplar3 votes

Yeah.

Think there's a good chance the OP misunderstood the buffs. Would appreciate clarification, because 6 extra stacks every 3 waves doesn't seem big to me. Gives him a meaningful window of denial, too. It's not a straight buff. If you save your cds to punish him on the cannon, he may not be better off with this change.

GFREEMEN1 votes

He is not even in top 40 for top

6 more stacks,,every 3 waves..holy... Actually....its not about that buff is meaningless. Its just damage meta is not reccomended and this fast paced games. Totally nonsense and useless..+riot logic to just buff damage..just make it league of duty.

H1de on blue1 votes

+6 Damage ever 2 mins OMG that a crazy buff!. Oh wait it's fucking meaningless

Doge20201 votes

This buff helps him keep up in stacks to the pace of the game. I agree that he does need more buffs to really be reliable, but that is hard to do without having him be a true noob stomper in low elo and ruin people’s games.

I like the step they took with this buff, because instead of randomly buffing a shit ton of stuff in his kit, Riot can slowly buff certain parts of his kit to round him out and make him equal in all elo’s.

This buff is gonna only give him roughly +70 stacks at 20 min if he gets all of the cannon minions. And getting all of the cannon minions from one lane until 20 minions is a very big if. a max amount of 70 more stacks at around 20 min isn’t that much at all. (This isn’t counting champ kills, only cannon minions and regular minions)

People think this will break him when it actually doesn’t. Now instead of getting his average 300 stacks at around 25-30 minutes, he would get it at around 20-25 min. This buff helps him keep up in the current fast paced meta
