Do not support Eternals if you want it to be free

For Dota 2 veterans, this’ll be quite similar, in fact, nearly the same. Like Hero Relics in Dota 2, eternals is a way to get achievements and record stats and achievements. Sadly, like Dota 2, it’s also behind a pay wall.

I really don’t understand they thought making it behind a paywall was a good idea. Getting personal achievements should be locked till a specific level, not locked behind money. Why did they look towards Dota 2 and CS GO to this idea, with a shitty money model?

This is beyond me.

it is supposed to be achievements for your champion yes? how is someone more skillful on a champion than me because he payed with money?

why do the same achievements only count for people who pay for them?

missions is different. missions are no reflection of personal skill. they are used to unlock cosmetics. this is like champion mastery 8 but you have to pay for it.

At this point I'd rather have to pay to play League. A one time purchase of $50-100, if that's what it takes to stop them from shitting out all the new pay walled content.

Oh hey it's Birbs! But I agree, at this point a small sub fee would be preferred over the constant nickel and dimeing they seem to be passing to take advantage of all the content. But they have made it way too easy to overspend on the game at this point so it probably won't change.

Game starts demanding more and more of my money Welp, I'm not buying any more RP for a long time.

I don't mind if it's stuff that's not pay-walled, or the occasional thing that's pay-walled. But now that Riot is shitting out mission passes, prestige skins, and little legends, this seems too cash grab-y. I can and will happily shell out $10~20 every month or two to support my favorite game and grab some goodies, but for the love of good, calm down on all these RP only releases. They're steadily becoming more like EA, tbh.

Riot really fails to grasp how much money they make from loyalty and how much they'll continue to lose from disenfranchisement and cheap money grabs. As you said, I think most people would happily pay $10-20 p/m, with outliers just going crazy, all because we love the game and want to support them.

Lose the loyal players, and eventually, the whales that Riot is currently catering to will leave as well, resulting in a dead game and $0 in revenue.

They mentioned having themed versions, like a project or starguardian version. That I'm fine with being RP since it's cosmetic.

However the base eternals should be free. Atm they're straight up locking game features behind paywalls.

Except that Little legends are a cosmetic that makes sense since it's main purpose is to look nice like a skin. Eternals are achievements meant to show skill, time and effort put into getting them, there's no reason to put it behind a paywall, makes absolutely no sense.

It's even more scummy than Dota2's achievement system for that matter. From how I understand it, you need to buy these "Eternals" in packs of 3 in order to get them at all, whereas Dota2 has a monthly subscription-based thing that gives you access to all of the possible achievements you can get, along with a bunch of other perks as well. It isn't just paying for an achievement system there. Among other things, it also gives you tips on which heroes to play to help your team comp and which abilities or items to get based on statistics.

If they made it into a monthly subscription for all of the Eternals, and bundled in their monthly event passes into that subscription (say, $15 usd a month. How it is in Dota), I would be all for it. However, I simply can't justify buying these Eternals at all with how it currently is.

next they sell you your ranked border. you can not prove that you reached your rank until you pay a subscription or 20$ RP so your rank is displayed on your profile and you get the border.

I don't want to bring it up but it is still true. Since Riot became all "inclusive" (I.E. Removing Graves Cigar, Declaring Varus was gay etc) they have become negligent of the quality of their game.

As a gay man myself, I do not need token representation in every bloody video game for me to play it. I am not that shallow.

My idea was: with TFT you have the level 2 and 3 champions, THOSE LOOK FUCKING NICE, for how minimal they are, I immediately though “these would be great mastery skins” why the fuck aren’t they? See, SMITE has similar things to this where you can earn achievements for specific tasks with champions. And they're free. And Paladins has missions as part of the battle passes that can require you to do certain tasks with certain champs again, which you can complete for free for more Battle Pass experience. Why is League charging for this? And why are people still playing this game for any reason but sunk cost fallacy?

To get ALL Eternals from Set 1 it is like 119k RP, it's around 400k or so to buy all skins in the shop at any given time, as tested on the PBE.

119 for the first SET, we know there's going to be atleast 2 already, so about 238k rp, over HALF the skins in League, just to get "Achievements" unlocked for every champ... YIKES

Riot only cares about money, 'cuz the legal age of playing lol is 13 years old or higher, but even tho Riot wants to make the game look sexy with making sexy skins to get money and almost naked champs. this game is almost dead and riot is just killing it faster.
