I'd like to see some improvements to Attack Move

Since I put attack move on my middle mouse button, ADCing has been a lot easier for me. I really like it and it's become a habit for me to attack move instead of right click when I want to auto attack.

Riot made this possible with a change that made attack move focus on the target closest to cursor instead of closest to your character. However, it seems like this is only the case when the target is in your attack range.

When they're out of range, it aggros on pets like ghouls, plants even when they're at the completely opposite direction of the champion that you tried to click on.

Also, when a champion runs into fog and you spam attack move on him, you will immediately turn to a nearby minion or zyra plant. I'm not sure if this can be fixed, maybe like the AI trying to follow them into the brush instead?

The worst part is when you're Hecarim. If you E and you attack move on an enemy champion, but you missclicked, you will waste your jump on the nearest minion. For example, you're running at an opponent, you click attack move onto the enemy, no problem. You do click away to dodge a skillshot, you want to click again, but you missclicked because you're not faker and half a second later you click again on the target. Too late, hecarim already jumped on a nearby minion.

I'd really appreciate if it also tries to target the closest target when they are outside of your attack range.

people like their mechanics too much and will complain about making the game play itself

With or without attack move, you can still click on the target to attack it. If you miss a hec E cause you missed clicking the right target, thats not attack move being inconsistent thats your cursor aim being inconsistent when you need it.

Attack move is great cause it basically makes adc playable with kiting, but players can use it too mindlessly to the point they can't click on the champions.

If you click on the champ, you don't need attack move. I thought the purpose of attack move was so that you attack even when you misclick. At least that's what Riot said when they made the change so that it would target the closest to cursor instead of closest to yourself. I'm just asking to do the same for when the target is out of range.

It helps with misclicking, but the general primary use of it is when kiting as ADC, you don't have enough time to move your cursor to the enemy chasing, and then move back to running and repeating that with your attack speed. It lets you click the ground and quickly click away instead for better orb walking.

Its not really meant to make last hitting or little things like landing a hecarim E more convienent. Those are optional and honestly done easier with regular right clicking, people do use attack move for everything still but thats mostly for practice so it doesn't feel weird or uncomfortable whenever they actually need to do it in a teamfight. I personally use it for everything since whenever I'm not using it, suddenly shifting to using it on instinct gets a little delayed or tricky for me, I basically use it as my right click.

Then why did Riot make the change of targetting the target closest to cursor instead of closest to char? If you're supposed to click away from your target anyways. Yes, I know that's a very important part of attack move's utility, but the fact that Riot changed it to make my way to use it possible (like 99% of the time) shows that my way is also a valid way to use it, I think.

I'm kind of doing it the same like you. But when you're using attack move instead of simply right click when doing heca E (because it's a habit), and you click 3 times on hecarim while he's out of range, one time you missclicked, then you click on heca again while still out of range, your character will already have attacked a nearby minion. Now, I'm not a heca main, otherwise I probably would just stop using attack move, but whenever I play him, this frustrates me. I used to like heca back in season 2 and 3, before I used attack move. But now he feels to weird.

or just get better with your mouse movement and clicks like you are suppose to do? This is why you spam click..

You are the problem not attack move lmao If its that much of a problem dont even use attack move. If you cant do that sucks to suck.

Yes, my cursor accuracy is awful. That's why I started using attack move. I like it because it makes you attack even when you click slightly off, unless it's out of range while something else is inside of range.

The thing is that attack range works brilliantly for me 95% of the time, but when it doesn't, it really sucks, especially on hecarim where it causes you to waste your E + jump in the wrong direction.
