Help me, I suck!

Alright... so I play Cassiopeia a lot, I use to play her top a bunch, but I stopped when I realized how easily I was beaten by a Trundle who took Warlod's Bloodlust and rushed Zz'rot first item, he just sustained through everything I tossed at him and I couldn't clear minions without running out of mana, and eventually backing.

I just played a game where I was mid against a Nasus who did the same thing, except he took thunderlords and just pushed wave with his e until he got Zz'rot, placed it under his turret, and boom... lane fucking over. Eventually we won, but our bot lane carried.

I don't know what to do against it and it's extremely frustrating to play against. So... Cassiopeia vs. sustain top laners with Zz'rot: what do I do?

Hope that they don't show up in your lane. Seriously. Cass is among the highest DPS mages in the game, but, especially in lane, she pretty much straight loses to sustain unless she lands all her abilities perfectly. Buying a Morellonomicon CAN help, but only if you're reducing them to 40%, which, against a Nasus, is laughable. Just hold the fort and remember; you don't need to carry every game. Just don't screw it up for the guys that ARE carrying that game.

SHes much better as a midlaner against the squishy mages or the assasins like talon or zed.

While Cass isn't the best at it you always have the option of roaming. Also note that cass doesn't depend on kills to be strong, she naturally scales late game. Just use the time to farm and build some late game items. If you can see you are getting into a farmfest lane make sure you have both a tear and a ROA stacking. that should give you the sustain to farm indefinitely so long as you aren't spamming Q/W too much. Not much is going to outscale a cassio. If that Nasus is using E he wants early pressure, so long as you deny that he will fall off quite hard due to a lack of stacks.

ROA is definitely good, but if you are needing more of your power a bit earlier consider Hextech GLP-800 item 3030

It is 300 gold more than ROA, but it offers more AP than the first 5 minutes of stacking time with ROA and offers the full amount of mana right away. You miss out on the extra 100 health, and 20 less AP at 10 stacks, but you get the same Eternity sustain passive and will also have the FrostBolt passive, which could help a little with your waveclear and does help Cass stick to targets.
