Just curious since the ability basically has three forms of counterplay. Not that counterplay is bad, but it's just kinda dumb to charge up the Q and have my opponent literally walk through me.

MunchCrunchLunch1 votesumm the ability has one of the highest base damages and scaling in the game and has some ridiculous multi cc attached to it. it already does 300+ Damage iwthout building any ad. you're supposed to E them or a minion to get a slow then Q them. or ult. then Q.

my understanding is that sion is a combo champ
you combo him roar -> smash+ furnace at the same time, the full rotation shoul chunk at least 40+ % in the early game. 40% slow is enough time to set up the full rotation.

You're correct about the gap closer, but those don't feel hard to come by in top and it certainly isn't enough to get 3 seconds. Plus making him not walk throughable when charging his Q wouldn't really change that counterplay as odds are you wouldn't be able to walk through him fast enough if he slowed you anyway.

I really don't know, and it's not really a thing you get to see much in games. Like how often are you that close to an enemy when there's things like attack range and instant turning?
