In case Hashinshin's argument about top lane was too controversial for you, Gbay explains it better

Gbay does a great job explaining the mindset of a top lane fighter main and why the lane feels like such garbage in his video. He's a lot more agreeable and reasonable than Hashinshin was in his video. If you don't understand why top laners are complaining so much right now, please give this video a watch.

It's pretty simple in a nutshell honestly.

Bruisers can't fight mages who don't interact and wave clear and gain an income advantage.

Bruisers can't fight ranged champions who harass them out of lane and gain an income advantage.

Bruisers can't fight tanks who are too durable to trade meaningfully with and will instantly kill a bruiser with jungler assistance and thus gain an income advantage.

Bruisers can't fight most assassins who outrade them early in games zoning them off farm and gaining an income advantage.

Bruisers just can't acquire income because they can't farm and an item dependent class that can't farm is just going to be useless.

While Hashinshin's ideas of buffs are well... very questionable? (Are you seriously trying to give 25% damage amp from PTA to melees?) The point is made across in both videos. I kinda skimmed the hash vid but watched the gbay one, from someone that just hangs around bot lane it was pretty interesting to see what the commotion is up there.

Worst toplane meta? Juggernaut launch, lulu top, old vlad and ryze, adc toplane meta after class reboot, who can survive vs renekton/riven after he was nerfed. Toplane has always had a dodgy meta, is the current meta bad yes, is it the worst no.

Supports have never been played outside of botlane, really? are these guys new to the game?

Bruisers on the whole have been weak for a while, the ones that are doing well are either abusing lethality (panth wu ect), can jungle well (udyr) or are jax/irelia who despite what is being said are doing fine right now. Lets not forget that the meta for a while that the meta nor riot hasnt really supported the idea of melee carries, its perhaps the main reason why the likes of nunu and ivern have terrible winrates currently.

I will agree whole heartedly that riot need to have a serious look at the lane, but the problem is that bruiser players havnt offered any sort of realistic balance changes besides stupid buffs to champs that do not need it. You having a bad time in lane does not warrant buffing an entire.

Maybe its because im a biased tank player but thats my 2 cents

on the topic of ornn, AP nasus hard counters ornn.

on the subject overall, tanks and juggernauts should be retuned into what ill call for now, semi-tanks, tanky fighters, and fighters should be given a bit of speed buff, to have a bit more balanced approach, and riot need to get off their lazy butts and do some serious work on the item pool.

I will give him credit, he was much more reasonable and explained better than Hashinshin.

As for Hashinshin’s proposed changes, some make little sense and wouldn’t have solved anything, like:

  • Ornn Q now magic damage and based off 2% health....why? His Q is not the problem and he doesn’t build AD. His W got tapped down, it might have to go down a little more.

  • Jayce I don’t understand, and perhaps someone could explain better, but wouldn’t it be better for fighters if he had more motivation to be in Hammer Form? I thought his issue was his Cannon Form, especially Gate - Shockblast.

I’d question his change to PtA, but I remembered that he believes it’s the only keystone for fighters..which isn’t true when you think that people tend to lump Skirmishers (Jax, Yi, Fiora, Yasuo), Divers (Xin, Vi, Aatrox), and Juggernauts together.

The update to Grasp on the PBE is interesting. It might need some fine tuning depending on how testing goes, but it’ll at least be much nicer on Juggernauts and certain Divers.

As far as tanks go, if they had the minimum damage they could have in lane so they could at least CS, it might not be as bad, since the focus for tanks should be on their teamfighting over their lane power, but this can be seen when the jungler shows up to help the tank. Toplane should not be a 1v1 fest, and if people are really gonna complain about how they lost a 2v1 because the jungler showed up, then I have to question what they expect when in Toplane. A Fighter or Skirmisher should have the 1v1 power over a tank, whether DPS like Jax or armor shredding like Darius and Garen, but once teams start coming together more, the tank should ultimately have the advantage over certain Fighters. Juggernauts can be an exception as some are really strong when enabled in a teamfight (landing that perfect Illaoi ult or getting the Darius multi-man Q and ult chain).

Let's be honest her though hashininshin does have good points. Gbay does too. The only thing i really disagree with is the actual numbers that he proposes apart from the existence of some of those nerfs are pretty legit
