It also blinds all effect champions for the duration of the stun.

Doesn't really do anything, but they just had their eyes blasted with the power of gems, they shouldn't be able to see anything else since the fantastic image is burned into their eyes,

The question isn't "is Taric playable?" it's "why isn't anyone playing him?"

Taric/Graves against Kalista/heavy AD comps is outrageously potent.

Ya Taric is actually the highest scaling support in the game. He has the highest win rate of all supports in games that last >35 mins, but as Riot as pointed out quite often "auras don't FEEL powerful."

I think its more cause late game when getting caught means certain death, he can front line and heavily and reliably punish squishies who stray.

Pink is the only way to go. Bloodstone is his only "non fabulous skin" Default and emerald are passable. But to truly be a master of Taric, one MUST purchase his pink armor.
