RiotWhoeverIsInCharge on Teemo's rework:
On our list of binary champions that aren't exactly healthy, Teemo was in good place for a rework: his old kit was pretty straightforward as well as highly uninteractive. While reworking him, we aimed at preserving his character and identity while giving him new tools to outplay opponents with, and overall feel better to play as.
As an example of such uninteractivity, his old ultimate was one of the most frustrating features to play with, because of its low potential in teamfights as well as low skillcheck: did the enemy team have a way to detect Teemo's mushrooms? If yes, then Teemo found himself with a warding trinket as an ultimate.
We also added a few VO lines directed towards other lovers of wildlife in the Rift.
Teemo, the Swift Scout
Average stats all around.
Guerrilla Total War (innate):
Previously Guerrilla Warfare
- If Teemo stands still, or stays in a brush, for 1.5s without being damaged, he gains True Stealth. This lasts until Teemo attacks, or is out of brush for more than 1s. Entering a brush while stealthed will refresh this duration, and Teemo will not be revealed.
- Being hit while stealthed triggers a Watch Your Step mushroom explosion the level of his ultimate ability when hit (thus unavailable before level 6).
- Upon breaking out from stealth, Teemo gains Element of Surprise.
- Element of Surprise empowers Teemo's next basic attack: it has superior range, and deals additional reverse-adaptive damage based on the target's maximum health as well as grant him a large burst of attack speed. This can exceed the attack speed limit.
- Reverse-adaptive damage is of the type against which your opponent built the least defensive stat. For example, if your opponent has lots of magic resistance but low armour, it will deal physical damage.
Powerdart (Q):
Previously Blinding Dart
- Teemo shoots a large dart at medium range in target direction, dealing damage to minions and monsters it passes through, and stunning and damaging the first enemy champion hit as well as pushing Teemo backwards. The duration of this stun is increased by double the target's Tenacity instead of decreased. This means that a target with 35% Tenacity will see their stunned duration increased by 70%.
- If the target does not have any tenacity, the damage is greatly increased, and Teemo gains Element of Surprise.
Move Quick (W):
- Passive: Fleet of Foot
- Teemo passively gains Fleet of Foot stacks by moving as long as he wasn't hit in the last few seconds. Quickmoving stacks grant him movement speed, up to a cap. Movement speed cap increases with level and ability rank, but is always reached in the same distance traveled.
- Being affected by hard crowd control makes stacks diminish quickly 1s after Teemo was struck, if he still is being controlled at that time.
- Upon reaching the cap, Teemo gains Planning.
- If Teemo is hit by hard crowd control while Planning is active, Move Quick becomes Emergency Retreat! and can be cast to break free from the control effect and dash a medium distance in the target direction, granting him a large movement speed buff decaying over a short duration.
- Casting Emergency Retreat! also resumes Fleet of Foot stack generation, and prevents damage from pausing it while the burst of movement speed is active.
- From level six onwards, Teemo can jump onto one of his mushrooms using this ability.
- While on top of a mushroom, Teemo gains all benefits from his innate, Guerrilla Total War, and can reactivate this ability to jump in the target direction. If he lands on another mushroom, he will stay stealthed.
Poisonous Tricks (E):
Previously Toxic Shot
- Teemo's basic attacks as well as damaging and movement impeding spells apply Deadly Poison to all enemies hit. Item effects and summoner spells also apply Deadly Poison.
- Deadly Poison deals damage over time, applies Grievous Wounds and decreases the target's resistances by a set amount, plus a percentage of their total resistances, over a few seconds. Applying the effect several times increases duration, but does not increase damage.
- Every few seconds, Deadly Poison deals additional true damage based on the target's missing health. This effect cannot be blocked by shields.
Watch Your Step (R):
Previously Noxious Trap
- Teemo throws a poisonous mushroom trap to a target location. After 1s, it gains True Stealth.
- If an opponent touches a mushroom, or hits it with an ability, it explodes, dealing damage and slowing opponents in an area, and granting Teemo Element of Surprise.
- Teemo looks for mushrooms to store while moving, and finds them more quickly when moving faster.
- If a mushroom hits another mushroom, it bounces further. This includes mushrooms having bounced off previous mushrooms.
- A mushroom has no arming time and can detonate as soon as it is placed.
- The explosion slows and damages, effectively applying two stacks of Deadly Poison.
Known bugs and glitches:
Stepping on a mushroom causes Teemo's laugh VO to be heard by every player in the game. We're actively looking for a fix.
