Recently had my first ranked game as support ever, no idea what to do and I don't even own support champions. So I played Annie since I used to play her mid when I first go into the game

At 10 minutes I had 5 assists, team had 5 kills to their 17. Every kill we had was picked up from getting gangbanged bot (literally the reason I play top/mid/jg). I get shit from singed top (0-5-0 proxy feeding erm farming) for not having a sightstone yet. I had item 1001 item 3098 item 3108 , doesn't seem THAT ridiculous. Like maybe I should have bought it instead of the codex, but also maybe he shouldn't have 5 deaths in their spawn, taking all of mids farm and exp.

My vayne was just farming, everyone was at full hp. Neither of us had flash or ult, those needed 15 seconds to be off cooldown. She tumbles at the jinx for a full all in out of no where, I didn't even have stun up at the moment. We both die, I get more shit

After the game vayne and singed tells me I'm trash and such. Why would I ever go through that again?? To be basically the punching bag of the team?? I see it all the time but had never experienced it.

The moral of the story is, we might not need autofill if people didn't make playing support so miserable. Maybe more people would actually play it

You played rank without even owning support champions or knowing how to support even though you know that autofill is a thing? You have no room to be upset when you set yourself up to have a shitty game. You should be familiar with all the roles by the time you play ranked, it doesn't matter if you only want to play 1 role because having a basic understanding of each role helps you play the game better and it's everyone's responsibility in ranked to play to the best of their ability.

Doesn't matter if he is plat or bronze the point is people get champs around the roles they play. They get ruins and build masteries around the champs they play. I know what support does even though i don't play them but it doesn't mean i'll be good at it. As well doesn't mean people will own them;i won't waste my points on them cause i do not want to play support i play the other four roles. Then there is the whole adc going ham issue to which for a starting support is to much to deal with.

I'm not trying to first time support in ranked. Last season I could just play the roles I put. How am I supposed to know which supports are good for which adc when I don't play that lane at all? I started playing league in patch 6.9, It's not like I can just play fill and know how everything is supposed to work in every lane already.

Last season ya I played a lot but it was my first season of league. So I own fairly few champions and played almost exclusively mid/jg. I have 3 pages of runes which are set up for that and likely do not even own the proper runes which supports would usually take.

I don't think it's fair that the system throws me into roles which I am not ready to play in ranked, when it does allow me to select my roles in the first place. Nor do I think it's fair to say that everyone playing ranked should know all roles and matchups in every lane. It makes much more sense to have players specialized and focused on their main champions and roles

Last season I could just play the roles I put.

Sunshine, from Season 1 to Season 5, we had to play the position the pick-order allowed us to take.

That means, before season 6, there wasn't even a way to pick a position before the game (Teambuilder was only in normal-draft, and that only in Season 5).

If you cannot even manage to play 3 out of 5 positions at least half-decent, then you don't belong in ranked.

Says a level 16 account so how many game do you play a year? 20? To assume he can't play 3 out of five is asinine at best. Honestly just cause i can play 4 out of five roles does not mean i want to for one and two being able has no bearing on if you should play ranked or not.i have seen many that can play well on their given role just to be in the one they are so so or bad on to cause whole team fails.

I choose auto fill in 90% of my games cuz im a support main and don't care if I get support. the last two times I chose auto fill I got mid and jungle

It's a lot easier once you learn how to ward against ganks. Being inexperience with the role doesn't mean it's bad, it means you're inexperienced. Looking back on my first Ranked games I didn't even know to buy the typical support items.

I suggest trying out new champions getting acquainted with them better or watch streams to give you more of a macro look

Don't worry the worst role to be in is jungle cause u get blamed for every loss and never appreciated for any win. I think the rest of the roles don't flamed as hard unless they feed. Jungle by far is always pointed at for some dumb reason. When in fact if people were to see their replay, they would see why they got ganked... For most cases you get ganked cause you over extend into the enemy side tower which makes the gank happen. Now u can over extend but be sure to have an exit out. Anyways for the most part when any role dies then the next thing they say in chat is "bad jungler u never gank my lane" .. well i cant when u are at THEIR tower.. but like one of the responses was.. .. just mute all when flames happen and play to your best of knowledge

Has it ever occured to you that you MAYBE played as a dog-shi-t I mean you said it yourself you are first timing support in ranked....

Annie is horrible support champion and specially horrible for vayne

And singed had many deaths because thats how you play singed its risky but there is no other viable way

So bottom line, you obviously suck at supporting, therefore playing support is bad? I'm sorry, would it be possible to include a little logic into that thought process BEFORE posting the result? Thanks.

oh the old times where owning 1-2 supports was considered compulsory education...

from an itemization perspective. You are getting 4-man dived in your lane repeatably? getting a sight stone is not effective from this position, what you need are combat stats to maybe outplay the dive.

now if the enemy jungler is living in your jungle AND your adc can hold the line 1v2 while you go a-roaming, that is another story. but if you are locked in your lane by a superior opponent, AND are getting dove by enemy mid + jungler combo...

...you need combat stats.
