Can Fiora's riposte at least not slow us without any CC parried?

Shroom Junkie··7 votes·800 views

I mean, she already has a dash every like 3 seconds if she lands her Q, and can say "fuck you" simply by pressing E and avoiding your CC, pretty much the only counter to her, and getting CC'd yourself. Why can she slow you without parrying anything too? Its so stupid and has killed me so many times against her because suddenly out of nowhere she just Q's on me and E's without parrying anything just to slow me and suddenly I can't get away.

I'd say the AS slow should probably go. It kind of just rewards poor ripostes.

If she's using it to slow then her spell immunity is gone, unless its a really, really long fight Fiora can only use riposte once. It's damage is pitiful as it receives no levels and it's usefulness requires very good reactions and predictions, i think Riposte is her most balanced ability.

It parrying CC from every ability in the game, literally her only weakness, AND putting it back on whoever's at the receiving end isn't enough? Someone like Fiora should NOT have CC, especially be able to ignore CC.

What's even more dumb is that she deals % health as TRUE DAMAGE and she gets movement speed whenever she hits the vital thing or whenever she's moving towards an enemy who has her ult. I'd rather play against Riven mains than playing against Fiora.

A melee champion having two slows and a dash isn't really that difficult to handle.

A slow combined with a speed boost, a dash every 3 seconds, a fuck-your-cc ability that also CC's the enemy, or heck, whoever she wants in the radius of her parry, a guaranteed bonus MS when moving toward her ulted target, and coupled with the fact she can duel almost anyone and - I wouldn't be surprised - possibly 1v2, is kind of, excuse my language but, fucking bullshit.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

I don't mind language.

She doesn't have a slow combined with a speed boost; she has two slows, a speed boost and a dash all separated from each other. Her dash only has a 3 second cooldown if she's hitting something each time. It travels about as far as Yasuo's dash, and if you juke it, it has near triple the cooldown. Yes, she has an invulnerable frame that counter-attacks. I've been waiting for League to add a real counter-attack ever since they removed the closest thing they had to one. Parry is not a radial strike, it's a line shot. *gasp* Her ultimate gives her damage and mobility? Who'd have thought an ultimate does that? It's not like any other champions' ultimates give them bonuses or anything, especially not damage or mobility.

And are you really surprised that someone going by the title of Grand Duelist was reworked to actually be a fantastic duelist if the player knows what they're doing?

Oh, right. I forgot the first attack of Bladework triggered the slow, was thinking it was her passive.

You can't juke it. The Fiora has to be an idiot to dash far enough from you to not miss. Its a dash that literally shows you where it will hit something so if you miss it that's the Fiora's fault, and it just means they're bad.

Yes, she has an invulnerable frame that counter-attacks. I've been waiting for League to add a real counter-attack ever since they removed the closest thing they had to one.

I don't have as much of a problem with that, my problem is that it CC's the enemy back. Even with that it still slows even if they don't CC at all which I find just stupid.

Parry is not a radial strike, it's a line shot.

Sorry, I meant the area not radius. Either way she can just push it into whoever even if Nautilus tried to hook her she can still stun the ADC.

*gasp* Her ultimate gives her damage and mobility? Who'd have thought an ultimate does that? It's not like any other champions' ultimates give them bonuses or anything, especially not damage or mobility.

Not many champions that have ultimates giving them both damage and mobility also give a large AOE heal that heals for a ton based on your AD, nor do they already have a fuckton of mobility. My problem is that it gives her even MORE mobility even though without it she's already sticky as fuck.

And are you really surprised that someone going by the title of Grand Duelist was reworked to actually be a fantastic duelist if the player knows what they're doing?

Tryndamere is a duelist. Does Tryndamere have a "fuck you" button that ignores all CC and gives it back to someone? No? I thought so.

The only things you literally cannot juke are targeted shots. It's difficult, yes, but it's not Syndra's Q-E combo, where you have to make them mis-predict the shot. Unless you're Mordekaiser or something.

It deals pathetic, AP-scaled damage. Would you rather it deals actual damage on a counter-attack? They could have gone with it dealing damage based on what she blocks, and/or making it scale with her AD.

Because her counter frame lasts 0.75 seconds, and she can't move or do anything else during it. Unlike every other invulnerability frame, it does not grant mobility or high damage.

Not many champions have ultimates giving them bonus damage and a ton of defense based on their offense. Not many champions have ultimates that turn them from duelists to team-fighters. Not many champions have ultimates that grant damage, mobility and stealth. Not many champions have ultimates with instant gap-closing and offensive and defensive bonuses.

You know what all champions have? Ultimates that severely change the game. Duelist or otherwise, ultimates tend to tip the scales in one's favor.

Tryndamere is a duelist. Does Tryndamere have a "fuck you" button that ignores all CC and gives it back to someone? No? I thought so.

Is Tryndamere viable outside of split pushing?

No?

Hmm, fancy that, really old champion that has desperately needed changes for years is a horrible comparison.

Fiora's dash is a targeted shot. If you get in the range, which it literally tells you if they're in range, then you get hit.

Did I ever say I had a problem with the small amount of damage? Like wtf? I was talking about how ignoring CC and using it to CC somebody else is stupid and you go onto damage?

Because her counter frame lasts 0.75 seconds, and she can't move or do anything else during it. Unlike every other invulnerability frame, it does not grant mobility or high damage.

Yeah, she can't move or do anything else. For 0.75 seconds. Basically stops any stuns from other people and then CC's them with a 1.5 second stun. Its like a shorter CD Zhonyas that then CC's(slows or stuns) someone after your done and you can get it from rank 1. Even if nobody tries to CC you. How is that fair?

Remove Fiora's stickyness, at least remove the dash CDR, remove the random unprovoked slow from her parry and then we'll talk about an ultimate that deals %maxhealth true damage and then can heal your entire team for over 700 health if they're all in the area. Heck, even just 3 people being healed on your team for that amount is gonna change the tide of a fight let alone if they're all in the AOE.

Is Tryndamere viable outside of split pushing?

No?

Hmm, fancy that, really old champion that has desperately needed changes for years is a horrible comparison.

And how viable is he in split pushing? Very. You pretty much need to send 2 people to stop his split push meaning team fights are now 4v3 in Tryndamere's favor. Viability is opinionated. In Tryndamere's case, he's a duelist that can beat almost everyone in a 1v1 and possibly 1v2. The difference is, he doesn't have a team fight ability that heals several people on your team for 700+ health, doesn't have %maxhealth true damage, isn't sticky as fuck and can't counter crowd control without actually buying items or getting Cleanse, nor does he have CC himself. So he's not OP. So what? He's still viable. Unfortunately the presence of champs such as Fiora, Darius, etc. outweigh his viability with how broken they are and that is what makes him unviable.

I was under the impression that it was not. My mistake.

Did I ever say I had a problem with the small amount of damage? Like wtf? I was talking about how ignoring CC and using it to CC somebody else is stupid and you go onto damage?

I was pointing out that the CC block/return is the only part of Riposte that's worthwhile.

It's called a power budget. The ability deals shit damage because it can block damage and CC, then counter-attack.

Because her only other defensive mechanic is a low self-heal, and she's a squishy melee carry that doesn't benefit from building much defense.

So, reduce mobility and remove CC for doing what Garen has done for years without some complex mini-game mechanic, because her ultimate deals true damage (which Garen's does now as well) and can heal her team.

Quick question on the side, have you ever complained about Garen's design before the Juggernaut update made it a popular FotM target?

Tryndamere is a viable split pusher, not a viable duelist. Literally every duelist in the game is better than him in some way or another, and they have the tools they need to outplay him.
