I'd like to refute your opinion on int feeding. It actually is pretty easy to track in many cases. in Int feeding games, decision bases are tracked and a well written report is taken into account.
I've had a few of those insanely bad games in the last couple days..... some 0/11/9 or 3/14/6.... But it wasn't me who started the snowball (teammates feeding a
8/0 by level 6.....,
8/0 by level 6.....
adc and int feeding
setting off a
get excited every single time they get to bot lane..... leaving me as a casualty of THEIR behavior.....)
But I can guarantee that Riot would look at those games and see I wasn't inting; I was getting 1 shot or trapped simply for supporting a horribly trolling team (
can legitimately 1 shot a
the entire game when a team feeds him 8/0 by level 6.... You can go Armor and he'll still 1 shot you, because he's just overtuned).
I'm going to add a response I used in a different thread to the subject of toxicity.
I know how you feel, but the vast majority of this community has been banned by now, Even people who historically are Plat/Gold (which means that either their toxicity doesn't affect their games, [more likely] that the autofeedback system flags people overzealously and punishes people who behave generally "okay" but sometimes are caught telling their team what they did wrong, how to fix it, and are perceived as "toxic" simply because people who play poorly don't ever want to accept blame.
I've been Perma banned 4 times. I never once even got a chat ban (first tier) when the Tribunal was in place. I'm a coach. I want to win. If I see people building poorly, or feeding someone who should never be fed (like Tristana), I tell them to scale it down and play defensively. I don't cuss, and I generally don't get into long arguments.
What I do: I am someone who often uses the evil words, "You did." If you want to trigger someone, there's nothing more effective than using the words "You did," and I know this because I use it with my wife. People never want to be told what they do wrong, especially in an accusatory terminology.
For example, I can tell a team, level 1:
Guys you need to get Grievous wounds, because they have 4 healers/sustainers, and you need to get it early.
Team by level ~ 7-8 has fed 22/2, and shows 0 signs of building a or even a
They start raging at each other, while I'm generally quiet.
And then I interject in an attempt to diffuse the situation. I tell them:
"You ignored me when I said to get grievous wounds early. Stop going out solo and farm. You're feeding like nubs."
Now..... I know "nubs" is a touchword that people cling onto for "toxicity." But it sure gives more emphasis than saying : "You're feeding hard."
And it's generally the "You" that gets me in trouble.
Because I said something at level 1, when people play poorly, their full team response is to tell people to "report me because I gave up at level 1." Nothing could be further from the truth. I never surrender, and I never give up. I've brought back 3/46 games personally a few times. But that's not the way Riot's autofeedback reads the reports and chat logs. If they see a system of the same accusations and directions in multiple games, that's you bring toxic.
Again, I was NEVER banned under the Tribunal. I never even got a tier 1 punishment.
However:
Account 1 was lost 9 months after I got Victorious Morgana. It had over 150 skins, including Ult Udyr and Sona.
Account 2 was lost ONE MONTH after I got Victorious Sivir.
Account 3 was lost 5 months after I got Victorious Maoki.
Account 4 was lost 1 month after the Season 7 end, after existing 3 months (for a little easter egg; That's this one)
All the accounts had ult skins. All had Victorious skins (meaning in good standing). All had sizeable fortunes in skin purchases, all had thousand + games per season (I was playing about 12-14 games a day)
And that's kind of what perma ban has become in League in the perception of the vast majority which particularly play ranked, and have at least one ban has become: It's perceived as a system to abuse the addictions of skin collectors to support sales. It's not about banning bad behavior, although that's in there. It's about attempting to automate a system which implies everyone is normal, and everyone is addicted, and everyone has social skills.
Yet there's some other very real truths about League:
- League was designed/marketed for intelligent players, not just "any" players. That's why it became sponsored as a college sport: Its reliance on calculations, geometry, spacial awareness, etc.
Yet..... the vast majority of intelligent people are nonsocial, have abnormal social patterns, or have biological deficiencies that prevent them from learning those capabilities. For example, given the type of autism my son has, it's quite likely that I myself have some form of Ausberger's. I see a lot of my own behaviors developing in him, and I'm not consciously teaching them. His method of learning is very similar, and his inability to look people in the eyes. His tendency to repeat sounds, or only focus on one thing and be overwhelmed by minor sensory things around him.
Growing up, I was tested and generally considered to be in the 92nd percentile of all intelligence. But you know what? I'm not a productive member of society. I'm a professional student, and I absolutely sound like a teacher in all facets of my life. But you know what? People don't like to be talked to like a student, from people they don't consider teachers, who are not in that job. They either discredit the conversation as coming from a "know it all" or "you don't know what you're talking about" or "I've heard it all before."
And you know what? That's not likely to ever change.
People have social irregularities. Especially League players. We can't just flip a switch and turn off certain things. But Riot doesn't take that into account.
