I can win lane but how can I make that matter to the rest of the team?

I can win lane consistently, what I can't seem to do is make that matter. I don't know how to make that translate to the rest of my team. If I win mid the JG seems to sit on my face because he has nowhere better to be because bot and top are firmly under control. Similarly if I help win bot mid seems to lose and then come down to murder us in bot. I know there has to be a way to make wining lane mean something other then make it the location of the first round of team-fighting. Help me out here.

I'll type a lot because I always appreciate good responses to questions like this when I post them. It's fucking frustrating right? You want to be good at this game but it goes beyond your control. You have four other people you need to carry on your back.

So you won lane. 1 of 5 people on the enemy team is probably demoralized right now, getting frustrated, and probably getting hate on. You need to spread the discord beyond mid lane. Beat him, killed him? This time, don't push tower, pop your blue ward deep in the enemy jung, see it's clear, and go steal wraiths, MAKING SURE TO LEAVE A LITTLE ONE ALIVE, so he knows you were there. See the jungler gank bot? Go take his buff if it's up, or the big krug. YOU ARE NOT MARRIED TO YOUR LANE NOR IS YOUR ONLY OTHER OPTION TO TRY TO GANK BOT AND TOP. Go fuck up that guys jungle man.

Now 2 people are demoralized. Next ping the hell out of ur jungler till he comes to Herald. Once you have Herald, go top and help him shove down his tower, even if yours gets pushed, because you can always go back there and kick that guys ass again. Now 3 people are demoralized. And your team sees you being actively helpful across the map (hopefully).

As for getting ganked, what do you do when you're behind. 0/1/0 0/2/0. You hug your turret and you last hit. Go into custom, and get pro good at last hitting under tower if you aren't already. Now lets say you won lane, so the jungler wants to shut you down. Play like your 0/3/0. Think about it, a 3/0/0 mid laner who refuses to leave his tower, is getting tons of cs, and no one can shut him down because he never plays like hes fed? That's like a giant middle finger right in the enemy junglers face man. Believe me, I jungle, and it's so rare to see this, but when I do, I fuckinghate that guy.

Think of the map as one big lane. You start mid, and you end by diving their fountain as the victory screen comes up, and you go every where in between. As soon as your lane gets pushed beyond the middle point, leave it immediately and go steal his jung, or just get the skuttle. Or go farm your wraiths AS LONG AS YOUR JUNGLER IS COOL WITH IT. Never be idle. Ever. You gotta be like a sniper, you killed your opponent, now change locations before you get counter sniped. The longer a fight lasts the more time the jungler has to get to mid lane and attack you. It's the closest spot on the map from ANYPOINT. If your fight is taking longer than like 5 seconds, then stop. Let him go, let him try to stay in lane and farm with like a quarter health while you have most of yours. Or watch him admit defeeat and B, giving up on CS entirely. You just won, and you didn't need a kill to do it, and you didn't risk getting shut down.

When team fighting starts, you'll have the most CS on both teams, you'll have kills and no deaths, and you WILL CARRY at that point, assuming someone else didn't feed harder than you got fed. There is no formula to winning. Everyone wins, and everyone loses. But if you play conservatively, if you do everything you can to frustrate the enemy, if you farm like a pro and never get shut down, you will win 9 times out of 10.

Incidentally don't look up my profile :P I don't take my own advice. When I fall behind I have a bad habit of trying to force fights and that's like the most terrible thing you can do ever. And When I'm ahead I do what everyone else does, I go go go until I get shut down.

Thank you. I will try this out.

I agree with what Evongelo is saying. Without a replay, it'll be hard to understand what exactly you're not doing correctly and what you should be doing better, but I'll try to give a general situation.

You're playing zed against an ahri mid lane. After consistent poking during the laning phase, you get 6 before she does. You kill her and escape the enemy jungler who has just showed up in your lane with the help of your flash.

3 Things are possible in this situation. Remember you want to increase the gold lead to the max and apply the most pressure you can so how?

First, if the wave is pushed up toward your tower, most likely the enemy jungler will push it all the way. You can try to safely farm this out and then back, or 2nd you could ping you jungler to hold your lane for you. The third option is if you're willing to, you can get your jungle to help out. If you go with the first option, make sure your jungler and your team knows that the enemy jungler is middle. They can use this advantage to either engage on their laning opponents or your jungler can gank somewhere. Game knowledge is extremely vital and important.

Once you get back in your lane, and have developed a lead. Start pushing for cs, push your lane as zed and deny as most farm possible from ahri. Wave management is extremely important as well, so if you haven't mastered that, go learn it. It's a very useful mechanic to deny the enemy gold and increase the gap. Once you pushed your lane out, think of your current options. You can go roam down to a helping lane or help your jungler make a play. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you're always doing something. Don't waste time. Play to your strengths. Perhaps you decide to 4 man bot and and kill their bot lane. You then proceed to take their tower. Don't attempt to do dragon after because your team spent a lot of resources already, and the enemy team has just backed and ready to fight again.

You are not confined to your designated lane, in fact it gets me mad when I have a mid lane who refuses to push and just sits mid for 20 minutes constantly shoving and staying under his tower. If you do well in lane as Zed, make sure you don't make mistakes when teamfights start breaking out. Don't outplay yourself. Be sure to kill the enemy carry and pray your team can manage themselves.

If you do well and the enemy jungler starts camping your lane. Make this known to your team. If you have an afk farm jungler, I'm sorry. Coordinate with your team to start applying pressure elsewhere since they are pressuring you. Get your team to push towers then rotate mid. Afterwards taking the outer towers. Start getting aggressive wards in the enemy jungle, constantly rotating as a team, clear their jungle as if it's yours and keep going. Back and start looking for more objectives. If there are no objectives to take, devise a plan to catch someone so that you CAN push another objective. If all else fails and they play really safe. Considering you are in the lead, try a 1 3 1 splitpush. Make sure to spread your power evenly, meaning you don't put the strongest 3 in the middle lane.

In all honestly, bringing something to your team relies on who you are playing as. If you're an assassin and you're ahead. Just don't mess up your job which is to assassinate the carries. If you get ahead on a tank initator like gnar. Just communicate with your team well and choose good fights. If you're bot lane and playing as adc and you beat theirs. Start applying pressure and taking objectives quickly as possible. Rotate mid and 4 man push it down, before getting herald or dragon as a team.

Well, the very fact that your drawing Jungle attention means that pressure from other lanes. (which arn't doing so well presumably.) I would have to presume that winning lane constantly doesn't mean total lane dominance. Otherwise the enemy jungler couldn't pick a fight against you, and would be a waist of his time.

It's really hard to exert map presence if you don't have said lane dominance. (and yet, some champs will try to gank if they can't get dominants.) But if the enemy Jungler has to baby sit your lane to prevent you from snowballing, that would free up your own Jungler to help other lanes. The other thing you could try is to have your Jungler counter gank. Which could deal with two champs at the same time.

Once you have control of the lane. Applying global pressure should be easy depending on your position.

Top: Look for a TP gank. Find a good ward to TP to.

Mid: Roam, Roam to any lane that could require your assistance. To make this super effective, coordinate with your Jungler. Though if your an AD midlaner, you can take mid tower no problem.

ADC: Club the closes Objective you can safely reach. Start by looking at Bot tower, followed by Dragon, then mid tower. Just make sure you have enough vision to not get caught out.

Support: If your ADC's doing well, light up the south side Jungle best you can. You could even gank mid lane if you have the tools.

Watch some LCS when it starts back up, if you don't already. Listening to commentary and paying attention to how pros rotate around the map is really helpful to understand how/when/why to go to certain locations and fight over certain objectives.

Really, it's all about understanding how to efficiently win the game. If you can be in the right place at the right time, that's honestly quite a bit more important than mechanics in most cases, I would say.

If you win lane 'consistently', wards shouldn't be too expensive. Keep in mind, if the jungler is camping, he couldn't farm either. The key is to be patient, he could not stay there forever. After 3-4 failed attempts, he should leave you alone.

If you have a large lead (i.e. 3/0 or better), take him on and /all something like 'pls' after you kill him. Most will give up on coming to your lane.

depends who you play.

Any assassin is easy, just roam.

Any bot lane, and you have some options. Help jungle secure drag, help mid with ganks and take mid tower, or just keep getting kills, you'll carry late.

Mages mid have it the hardest. Pushing can still be hella dangerous when you are winning in lane, and roaming can leave an enemy free to take your tower. Id say just try to follow your mid, and make sure he isnt ganking anyone else. Also try to do some light counterjungling.

Top lane... TP in, or dont. It doesnt really matter. just take the first and maybe second tower. Get Herald too.

I do struggle with this sometimes myself. I know with botlane it's really important to get vision control of the tribush after you take their tower. That way the enemy feels afraid to push up to your tower and they have to come to your pink in order to clear it giving you a chance to kill them.
