Jeremy did a good job with this video (he had another one that was similar in name that I watched) for the things that I never got to experience in some cases. About halfway through the video, he started talking about something that existed before S3 (I joined at the end of S3), and what it was astonished me.

What he was talking about was the old rank system that existed until the beginning of S3 (I was only aware of the tiers that existed during that era), but more importantly, how it worked. How it worked was pretty much the same way Overwatch's ranking system works: No promos and if you win you can climb up ranks, if you lose you could go down. Fairly simple. That had me thinking: With how ranked works right now (after we get the rank switch), could that type of system get brought back just to replace most of the MMR system we currently have? And in case of what im saying is confusing you, allow me to explain in detail:

We would have LP and promos continuing to exist, but each point of LP would have an ELO rating assigned to it. This would probably affect Masters, Grandmaster, and Challenger less considering they are leaderboard based rankings (since LP there is more of a number than a thing that decides matchmaking) all things considered. I feel like this could possibly fix the matchmaking issues that are currently going on at the moment (mainly with single rank). Anyone agree?
