So, you delay assassin burst and then expect them to not build tanky?

Hello? If I'm playing a squishy melee assassin, and my job is to kill the ADC surrounded by their entire team (because I'm going off the assumption the ADC isn't a dumbass wandering around by themselves), here is a list of what I have to deal with.

  1. Multiple sources of CC which any sensible teamcomp has
  2. Equally strong or stronger burst which most team has at least one source of
  3. Locket into Redemption which pretty much every single support ever takes
  4. Their lifesteal which pretty much every single ADC ever takes (either through BOTRK in early or Bloodthirster in late)
  5. Exhaust which pretty much every single support ever takes

Their lifesteal alone means I have to kill them before they can simply right-click their way back to a full health bar while simultaneously melting me with autoattacks.

I get CC'd once? Well, fuck me then. Time to give up on any hopes.

They have Locket/Redemption? Oh boy, I love getting anywhere from a quarter to a third of my damage completely shielded off. And then just in case they took any damage still (assuming I'm still alive and not CC'd after Locket ends), Redemption heals them for a fourth or so of their health.

Let's try assassinating the ADC. Just kidding, I lost 40% of my damage and a massive amount of movement speed instantly from a point and click. Time to get away. Just kidding, I'm dead or just barely manage to get away by burning everything I have.

I misstep even once with having to pin point everything? Well fuck me, the mage who just throws down a spammable AoE that I can only escape if I use either my mobility and/or my survival ability chunks me for half or more of my health while safely in the backline. While my burst is entirely single-target and almost always requires an ultimate or some condition (using up mobility/safety ability, or a timer delay).

So yay, now we get our burst inherently delayed too. Whee, shoot the sparklers.

So why the fuck should I still build glass cannon? I'm not ever going to realistically get my damage off or survive through just melee burst.

I'd go tank so I can actually survive. Because fuck my burst. If I can survive with a tanky build and just do DPS to kill my target anyways, that's better than being a glass cannon with burst that will never do anything.

#Sure, nerf the base damages if you feel like it. But that will just trash them altogether by invalidating their only option left.

Remove the stupid and unnecessary delays in their kit or at least reduce it a major amount, then drop bases as appropriate if you actually want to fix the issue.

Do you not have a team that can provide a distraction? Are you trying to dive 1v5?

That's why assassins take skill.

Assassins are supposed to suck at teamfighting.
