Mages need CDR options. Give Luden's Echo 10% CDR, nerf the MS to 7/5%.

Since the removal of DFG, there is a serious lack of CDR options for mages, especially since Riot is trying to stop midlaners from picking up FQC. Well, Luden's, which was the replacement item for DFG, has no CDR, so why not change it to add some just like DFG had?

Current Luden's:

* Large Rod + Aether Wisp + 1100g combine cost = 3200g

    * 100 AP
    * 10% move speed
    * And the passive

Can we change it to something along the lines of:

* Aether Wisp + Fiendish Codex + Blasting Wand + 700g = 3200g

    * 100 AP
    * 7% move speed (same as lich bane)
    * 10% CDR
    * And the passive

This would make it basically the caster's version of Lich Bane.

With this change, they'd basically be the same, except for the passive and Lich Bane having mana while Luden's has more AP.

Problems I see being that it could be too strong if someone bought both (coughfizzcough) so perhaps make it a switchable item like Hydra so you can't have both? So you have to choose between having enhanced autoattacks or an enhanced spell. Either that or just make the movespeed bonus a unique passive so buying both will waste stats.

Anyways maybe it would need some number tweaking (maybe 90 AP instead of 100, or just up the price by 100-200) but it's just an idea because there is a real lack of CDR+AP options.

item 3174 item 3165 item 3152 item 3100 item 3060 item 3092 item 3050 item 3115

Yeah so few options for AP and CDR.

Note: I KNOW they are not ALL good on every mage. But there ARE options. Diana : get Lich Bane and Nashor's Tooth for example.

I'd rather keep Luden's how it is, thank you. It provides a nice movement speed buff to slow mages like Anivia.

As for cooldown reduction: Deal with it, we have Morellonomicon and various other CDR items so it is completely unnecessary in my opinion.

runes? I'm not sure anyone likes the idea of mages getting free cdr by building what they normally build

Yes, they need more options, but not on an already must buy power level item

yeah every adc item gives atatckspeed and crit, i think every mage item should give cdr so every item is the same and only their passives vary because the game is much more fun then

Or stop being a fucking casual with "muh MR runes XDD" and use CDR runes.

I mean ADCs get the new ER which is absolutely stupid as an item when it comes to stats (This coming from someone who actually liked ER before), so it makes sense. It's not like ADCs really lose anything going for it, so why should mages?

If you're having trouble capping cdr, consider some scaling cdr runes. There's suppose to be tradeoffs in ap items. They shouldn't ALL eventually cap your cdr. Consider the following build:

item 3020 item 3027 item 3040 item 3157 item 3001 item 3135

Sure, it has no CDR, but that's a pretty tanky setup for a mage, and still gives a ton of ap with that rod/seraph combo, and nuke with that void staff. Plus, it resolves all sustain issues permanently. You shouldn't have ALL THAT and still get a bunch of CDR for free.

Here's an example of how I resolve the cdr issue for someone like Vlad (he's a rare outlier when it comes to having no synergy with either mana or attack speed (and thus having only one logical 10% cdr ap item) but even for him, I can cap it:

item 3065 item 3111 item 3152 item 3151 item 3116 item 3157

Where do I get the other 20%? 3 scaling quints and 3 scaling glyphs will give you 20%. Or, if you think you have enough mr from items, 9 scaling glyphs, and 1 scaling quint. With the amount of health and other defenses he has with this build, he doesn't really whatever's lost from traditional runes.
