Pretty sure the game was dead after season 2/3, but I came far later and was around for it's "death" with the Pre-season 5 changes and removal of mana pots.

League of Legends currently has around 104 million players, the highest it has ever had. So unless something major happens then this game isn't going to be dying soon.

That number doesn't matter. The game is in shambles right now. Hopefully riot gets their shit together and hires more designers to redo the kits that they have created that cannot be balanced. This game WILL go to shit if nothing is done about the poor design. It is understood that this is a moba, it cannot be completely balanced, but what kind of sick bastard removed SotA for CoC? NO ONE EVEN USES BOND OF STONE.

What season wasn't the game in shambles? Closed Beta? People are always complaining about how imbalanced or neglected this, that, or the other is, that hasn't changed. I'm sure you can go back to the old forums and find posts about people saying that League would be dead by 2015, 2016, 2017, etc.

What has changed is that more and more people are apparently playing the game, despite the problems that keep being pointed out. More new players joining your game than old ones leave isn't a sign of the start of a decline. For League to actually be Dead in 2023 it would need to show signs of playerbase decline now, if not years ago.

It's on it's way already with autofill, no coincidence that old ass games like OSRS suddenly hit it's max players ever after autofill came out.

Games on it's way to the dumpster, I've stopped playing myself. Only thing keeping it on life support is there are no viable alternatives to be mainstream enough to take over. OW didn't do it, DOTA 2 is too hard, but sooner or later something will come along like League was to Runescape and it will utterly gut this game's playerbase if Riot doesn't fix their shit.

You sound like I did at the start of season 6.

Yeah I only played about 100 games total for all of season 6 and took 4 months away and then later another 2 months away.

But one does not simply quite league forever.

Fun fact, I'm not you. One does absolutely quit League forever, let me just reiterate, there is a ZERO percent chance I will play League ever again if autofill is not removed, except possibly playing a few games to get gold for the skin on the off chance Riot does eventually fix League. This is if I care at that point, which is doubtful.

I quit RS on the spot and never went back, the same goes for League. Only reason I'm even considering coming back and is that there is very little to replace it. RS got dropped for League by me and I never went back for the simple reason of League being a replacement.

Same thing here. I stopped playing RS for League, and now I barely get on league anymore, just don't see the sense of accomplishment anymore, the horrible balancing. So I hopped back to RS and will stay for awhile unless something comes of League.

I'm considering it but I'm not 13 anymore so I'm not sure if I can be arsed to grind out skills plus I liked RS 2011 the most, I liked all the new stuff, but EOC and SOF was shit, quit when EOC went in beta because I hated it so much

I played OSRS for a bit I think my acc is lvl 89 or something and I even have more quests done on it than I ever did in RS HD but don't think I can be arsed to do it anymore, only played it for a couple of weeks over the past few years.

i too quit when EOC came out, and then just got back into it slowly over the past few weeks.

Can honestly say I don't mind the EOC now that I got used to it. And there are still plenty of fun things to do. Skills being one of them :D

Pvp and pve games are different monsters.

I can think of about 10ish. Considering theres literally thousands made a year 10 isnt that much.

That's insane for a single title. The only other games that accomplish that would be certain old-school fighting games, but those are generally only played on a worldwide stage as part of a larger event that is meant to represent the entire genre.
