Let's talk about BLIND (status effect)
Let's quickly recap what "Blind" is and what it does. The following is taken directly from the wiki.
The target will miss auto-attacks, incurring the message "Miss" above their attack target.
- Blind only mitigates the physical damage portion of an attack, including physical damage sourced from a physical on-hit effect. Other damage types and effects won't miss.
- Abilities that apply on-hit effects will also miss.
- Blind is considered a form of damage mitigation. As such, it is applied after
Thornmail's passive. - Does not interrupt channeling.
- The duration is affected by crowd control reduction.
- The effect can be removed by all cleansing effects (except for Mikael's Crucible).
- Blind will not affect certain champion abilities.(e.g. Riven's passive Runic Blade)
- Blinded enemies will only miss if they attack while blinded. Ranged units will still hit if the projectile fires before the blind.
- If
Vayne is blinded, she can only proc her Silver Bolts if she tumbles. Normal auto attacks do not proc silver bolts while blinded.
So there we have what "Blind" actually is and what it does. Put simply, it makes auto attacks miss, and nothing else. This doesn't make much sense, especially with today's meta. If someone is blinded, it means they can't see, or at the very least their vision is blurred. I would also like to mention that the vast majority of champions in LoL do not rely on only AA's. Aside from ADC's, Blind is relatively useless as a CC. Even against an ADC, abilities like Zap, Super Mega Death Rocket, Living Artillery, or any other ability that isn't based off of an AA is completely unaffected.
Now let's look at HOW to inflict Blind.
- Currently there are only two champions who can inflict "Blind" on their opponents,
Teemo and
Quinn. - There are zero items that can inflict "Blind".
Short list, huh? Now I know that there are other status effects that only a particular one or two champs can inflict (Volibear Fear, Ahri Charm, Lulu Polymorph, etc) but all of those statuses are very powerful! Especially when compared to the very limited use of Blind.
So what should Blind do?
I feel like Blind should really feel like it's BLINDING the opponent, not just summoning a small dark cloud around their heads. Right now Blind can only be inflicted by short-range abilities, and as such I feel like it's the perfect time to recreate it into what it really should have been all along.
I would like to see Blind take one of two different directions. Both of which I've stated below.
Blind: Obscures vision around the target champion for the duration, think of it as a reverse Nocturne ult effect or Graves Smokescreen. The player would be able to see everything EXCEPT for the area immediately around them. This would make it feel like a true blind because you actually would BE blind to what's near you. (IE: The champion who just blinded you) Skillshots could still be aimed, but you would not be able to see or AA whatever is in your blind radius.
Or
Blind: Causes any AA's and non-skillshot abilities to miss for the duration. Put simply, when you're blinded you can't really hit anything. An example of what would be blocked is
Master Yi's Alpha Strike,
Darius's ultimate, and any ability that you realistically wouldn't be able to land if you were blind. AoE and Skillshots would still hit because you can shoot blindly in a direction or attack an entire area while blinded, but you cannot reasonably hit a specific target.
Even if you blind a melee champion, they pretty much all have one or two abilities they can still throw at you for big damage.
Roots break movement, Stuns break channels, movements, and the ability to attack, Suppressions do roughly the same, and Knockups do that too and are uncleansable, but Blinds only block auto attacks... it just seems incredibly weak, no matter how you look at it. That's not even blinding it's just crappily dodging a very specific method of offense.
What do you think?

Darius's ultimate, and any ability that you realistically wouldn't be able to land if you were blind. AoE and Skillshots would still hit because you can shoot blindly in a direction or attack an entire area while blinded, but you cannot reasonably hit a specific target.
