Gragas Dropped to 46% Winrate in Platinum+

I'm actually quite amazed how hard he was hit. I'd never have imagined he'd be doing worse than Lee Sin! That's among the ten worst winrates in the game. It's also not as if the sample size is small. There are over 10,000 games! He might actually have gotten overnerfed even though individually, the changes don't seem huge.

I just made this thread so people realize that there are probably far better bans at this point.

or win rate doesn't mean everything? I mean sure hes not worth a ban anymore because now only the GOOD gragas players will win with him like it should've been to begin with but doesn't mean he isn't still a good champ. He didn't even get hit that hard, I played him for his cc and the only thing that got nerfed was his slow and that isn't the cc I'm talking about.

The thing about Gragas is his numbers were huge: big slow, very nice damages and VERY BIG AoE + tankiness.

BUT he always felt very clunky especially his W. I just wished they didn't nerf his Q slow but reduced the AoE effect and remove the minion penalty. This would have seperated the good Gragas from the great Gragas. And like make his W animation go faster or something. So that's the balance problem about Gragas: If he doesn't have huge numbers he's too immobile to make a difference.

I haven't played him yet since the nerfs. I'm not sure what to think on it yet. The slow duration just was straight up nerfed as you barely ever get a fully cooked barrel to hit, unless it was a jungle camp.. I'm not sure if the health regen affected him that hard though as he still has his passive to help him, but he does now have one of the lowest hp regen's in the game. Still, he was on thin ice before the nerfs and his body weight wasn't helping him.

I don't really mind that he's getting nerfed as maybe he won't get banned/played as much. But I was hoping for nerfs that targeted his jungling specifically, not his laning ability as well. I suspect he will still be used in competitive despite the nerfs, as he has a lot of ability with his kit to make plays. But he might not be banned as much as I suspect his early game is getting hit the hardest here, which is really what made him such a strong pick.

He was overrated even before.

He's still at 46% even after 25k games in Plat+ so I believe "overrated" is now a fact rather than opinion when considering how high his banrate is still.

To the people that say winrate means nothing, all I can say is "lol and yet it changes so much based on balance tweaks". Gragas used to be one of the best performing JGs so please ditch that silly notion. It is only valid for champions that have low pick-rates, small sample-sizes, very niche uses, or extremely high skill-caps. Data from Plat+ is generally a strong indicator with a good sample size.
