Autofill is ruining ranked

People don't choose a role because they know they can't play the role.

Forcing them to play that role just makes the game even worse. Most people would rather wait for queue to get a role they can actually play.

I preferred pick order.

I'm very very good at begging for mid. Almost get it every time. Even as last pick.

It's a lot harder to beg under this current system because most of the other players are also 1 trick ponies who really can't switch with you even if they want to.

i liked it better back then because everyone knew how every role worked and could play it all usually because you had to be able to

No, I say "Please let me mid. I average 20 kills per game when i play mid lane and I will be the best mid laner you've ever seen. If you let me mid you won't regret it. I'm a really good mid. Check out my op.gg. If we get a good tank and a good support I will carry us."

IS RETARDED because now most autofill supports are trolling and losing the game so someone is has to switch if they don't want 80% lose from the start, is worse than pick order

The problem is that not enough people are queueing. Making queues take longer isn't actually a solution for this because dynamic queue is inherently flawed - if 20 people queue up as mid every minute, but only 5 people queue as support, every minute the queue for mid players gets 3 minutes longer. So after an hour of that, you'll be waiting in a 3 hour queue.

There are more than enough people. Riot is just doing a terrible job. They need to get people to play more roles. There are many ways to do that. Make the other roles more impactful. Make them more fun. Increase the viable champion pool for other roles. Etc. The can also work on the MMR system. Riot has control over who you get paired up with. They can tweak it.

I seriously can't stand it when people complain about the autofill feature and say they got placed into a role they don't know how to play. Don't pick autofill then! Autofill should only be used when you know how to play ALL roles EFFECTIVELY!

Nobody picks autofill. We get automatically assigned autofill. That's why it sucks.

I meant fill, not autofill. My bad. There are a lot of people who I get matched with who say they pick fill then complain about the role they were assigned.

I never pick fill.

I pick Mid and Bot and get assigned Jungle and Support sometimes. I can't jungle. I can play a kill lane bot but I can't do a traditional support like Leona or Blitzcrank.

Yeah, I can see how this would seriously mess up a game. I don't think anyone should be placed into a role they didn't specifically choose. What if that summoner doesn't know how to play that role? Problem!
