Do people just not know how to play around a splitpusher or am I not conveying the message very well

Last game I got a pretty nice lead as Illaoi and told my team "im going to be splitting most of the game, take objectives when they come for me". Annie had lost lane to Syndra pretty badly so i knew that we shouldn't be teamfighting too much. All game my team mates do nothing but attempt to fight 4v5 or group around me despite me telling them not to and despite me having the Herald buff. This is not the 1st time it's happened to me and I just dont understand. Why do my team mates keep on ignoring what I'm telling them? The enemy team was sending 3-4 people at a time to stop me and i was getting good 1-1 trades when they did but my team wouldn't take advantage of it and would keep trying to teamfight even though we couldn't win those.

Am i not being clear enough in chat or do people have no idea how to play with a split pusher in low elo?

Well here is the deal, you are telling 4 other people to change their strategy for the sake of yours. I am not saying your strategy is wrong, because when Syndra is fed it is hard to teamfight against her (but tbh Annie just needs to land 1 Tibbers on at least 2 people than you need to go in and ult at least 3 people, Boom teamfight won). Its just that you can't expect the other 4 teammates to follow your commands, unless you are in a 5 man team, most of the time they want to do their own thing. That is solo queue.

If you keep split-pushing and they keep 4v5ing, something needs to change. Guess what? It isn't going to be them, so you are the one who needs to adapt your strategy. If Split-Pushing isn't working you need to change it up and find a strategy that works for your whole team. The point is to win, you need to do that by any means necessary even if it means completely changing your playstyle.

Tbh Illaoi is a teamfighter, her dueling falls off late game.

But to answer your question, no, most don't. Actively pinging drag/towers when you see people coming for you might help.

Oh oh oh!!! Watch this video by ScrapComputer.

This is a guy who knows what he is talking about and gives some nice details about everything about League of Legends (Exaggeration). Watch this, see if you like it, and just remember the name of the video to tell your team what split pushing is. This cannot help in game, but helps post game, if they actually stay and click the link. This video gives a lot of details of what Split Pushing is and how it works and the strengths. Watch it. Just give them this video so they know what it is. I actually have the issue of my top laner not split pushing. I am tired of 5v5 fights in mid lane and only mid. I want my top laner to split push but oh well. Well done in doing so.
