Champion Rework: Nunu, the Yeti Rider
I play a lot of ARAM because I like to see the variety of champions. I've had the pleasure of playing Nunu a few times, but his whole kit seems very basic. Nunu was released in 2009, and his skills show it. The link is for Nunu's champion page, where you can view his abilities. Now- don't get me wrong: Nunu is an awesome champ with great sustain, good mobility, and great AP burst. His ultimate is hard to work with, considering it's a channel and can be interrupted to deal no damage at all.. which shows more often in ARAM than Classic undoubtedly. I just imagine Nunu is up for a rework. My concept was inspired by Kled and his mount, Skaarl- imitating the separate health bars and different behaviors when dismounted. So here's the basic idea:
Passive: Willump, the Faithful Yeti
Nunu rides Willump into battle. When Willump becomes too injured to fight, Nunu dismounts the yeti. Willump returns to battle with a portion of his health when Nunu acquires enough Meat Stacks to revive the yeti.
Q: Consume/Harvest
consume- Nunu commands Willump to take a bite from target minion or monster, dealing massive damage and healing himself. harvest- (while dismounted) Nunu's next basic attack against minion or monster deals massive damage and acquires a Meat Stack.
W: Blood Boil
Nunu invigorates himself and target ally by heating their blood- increasing Attack Speed and Movement Speed, and reduces the slow effect from Heavy Snow.
E: Snowball
mount active- Willump hurls a ball of ice towards target location, striking the first enemy unit hit and dealing damage in an AOE. If Snowball is thrown while in Heavy Snow, the snow is lifted in an AOE, and Snowball gains more power. dismount active- Nunu throws a snowball in a line, striking the first enemy champion or monster struck. If Snowball is cast while in Heavy Snow the cooldown is greatly reduced.
Ultimate: Avalanche
Nunu calls down a mighty avalanche to target location dealing massive damage in a large AOE, and turning the area into Heavy Snow. All units passing through Heavy Snow have their Movement Speed greatly reduced, and lift the snow where they walk: removing the effects of Heavy Snow in a path as they travel. (Like a reverse Singed.. actually Singed walking through the Snow is a pretty neat concept....anyways...) The amount of snow lifted is affected by unit size, so a path made by a super fed Cho'Gath makes good room for units to pass through.
HAHA! (stomp!)
That's my concept for a Nunu rework. I hope you enjoyed reading it.
Please tell me your thoughts below- and vote on whether or not you think Nunu needs a rework in general.
