Dragon Giving Gold Was a Better System Imo.

These new Dragon changes are exciting, but I simply feel it's going to be too random. especially with the way some of the buffs stack. Such has getting two stacks of damage or regen can really swing things. Gold was divided evenly among tanks, carries and supports on the other hand.

Some of these Dragon's will just have to be contested, which is Riot's goal, since no one really cares about Dragon until someone is at 3-4 stacks.

However I felt that back when is rewarded gold is was indeed worth fighting for. But at the same time it wasn't worth dying for either. Dragon's could snowball you if you continued to get them, but some teams were able to get ahead or even stay even by just letting them all go depending on their style.

Total fan of the Elder Dragon though, since Dragon meant nothing late game when it only gave gold.

I feel like implementing a change this big before they even work out the mess leftover from preseason is silly.

The problem with old system of Dragon, where it only gave global gold, was that it was too important early game, and lost importance as the game went on, making it worth less than dying for it, during late game.

The dragon system right now, provides reasonable stages of power that can help maintain it's importance, as the game progresses, without completely snowballing a team early game.

The newest dragon system they plan to set out, would fix the spikes of power the current one holds, by providing strong, situational buffs for the team to strive for if they wish to obtain them early-mid game, and they stack upon those buffs late game with the Elder dragon, giving importance to both early dragons and late game dragons.

You are entitled to your opinion of what you believe was a better system, but I feel like this system is a lot better.

Dragon giving global gold was definitely simpler, but it made dragon easily ignorable if it gave too little, and too snowbally if it gave too much. There simply was no middle ground.

Riot is still trying to find that middle ground.

I think dragon needs to work like obtaining a buff. Keep the current stages of it however if your team kills it when you are dead than you don't get the next tier buff to it.
