Why the Hell is IEM Being Played on 5.21!?

I don't even want to watch anymore, this event seems totally pointless now. I wanted to see how pros would adapt to the massive wave of changes. If they play on 5.21 there pretty much playing Season 5.

Because 5.21 is stable patch, and 5.22 is highly tentative, therefore it wont be fun to play or watch highly broken game mechanics.

tl;dr - 5.22 is borken.

The brokenness would be what would make it fun to watch. We already saw all of worlds on 5.18 and very little changed between that and 5.21. Seeing how organized pros played on the preseason patch would have been fun (and it was done the previous preseasons).

Yeah, it would've been kind of fun to watch all the brokeness in pro hands, but keep in mind that's a tournament so it needs to be somehow fair. On top of that, being in the off-season means that most of the teams have new roster. TSM literally said they've had 4 days of practice with their new roster before the IEM. New roster + the first preseason patch would've been too overwhelming for the teams. Keep in mind that they play to earn money as well.

Maybe we will see some of the preseason in the next IEM in December + ALL stars. Especially ALL Stars is so troll, therefore they might throw in the new patch for it.

Ok I take it back. The TSM vs LGD games were AWESOME. The old patch isn't as boring as I thought it would be. They had an exhibition aram for the lols. I'll just be patient until the all-star tournament.

Because IEM hardly matter as a tournament. From the get go, its preseason patch, team are voted based on popularity rather then qualifying, some teams recently got team overhauls/player swaps, etc. Also its about the only time any non-riot official tournament can take place any big name teams, since everyone's regional last about all year long.

It will still be entertaining, just not much valuable in a competitive point of view.

That seems like all the more reason to go with the new patch. It's not as important so teams wouldn't be as afraid to try new things and experiment with the new patch. See what works, what doesn't. This would have given Riot a lot to consider, as well, because pros would be a lot better at exploiting the patch than solo queue players. The true imbalances would be shown with considerably less cost if the tournament was a stompfest.

5.22 is not balanced. Not that it is supposed to be balanced, given that preseason is designed to be a testing ground. You shouldn't play a tournament on a patch where exploits can be used.

She has a problem, the most popular midlane champs right now are terrible matchups, Yasuo, Kayle, Brand.

Meanwhile, the assassins she used to prey on are on a terrible state.

Everyone has a problem on this patch. She's not an exception. And by the way a good Diana can beat Yasuo and Brand. The only problem would be Kayle who she could never beat. I don't know what division your main is in but where I am (Low gold) Kayles don't even exist. So... yeah, some popularity there. I've seen a couple Brands though so i'll give you that. As for Yasuo... he's perma-banned and if he and Trynd aren't banned your captain done goofed. Honestly unless you get on your main i'm not going to take you seriously, you appear to just be a troll-account.

Probably the only assassin that didnt get gutted. Got to think all the AD Assassins, items were basically stolen. Besides LB what other AP assassin has been competitive? She isn't broken just one of the few non gutted. She is still an AP champ that got nerfed like the others.

Then wait till All Stars.A Rioter told me that All Stars will be played on one of the Pre-seasson patches (I'm assuming 5.23).

Also think of it this way,we be able to see if Kindred is a viable pick in the competitive games or not.

Because Preseason is a highly experimental time of year where balance is thrown off the rails in preparation of forming a solid foundation for the upcoming competitive season? Be serious, with all the changes to be sifted through, the game is far from being in a stable enough state of affairs to host competitions around. There are too many cogs to be dealt with, too many strong champions and overtuned items and masteries. If competition is meant to compare the skill of opponents, then an experimental balance state like this is far from ideal as a competitive environment.
