Goodbye Previous Evelynn, Passing on the torch.

I just want to say that Evelynn the previous one was my favorite champion, and she is gone and dead now. She is just mostly memory, I'm not writing this to complain or bitch about her being gone and how the new one isn't like the old one. That was the point for her old kit to be erased. I'm typing this to say, that I hope people out there learn the new eve and pick her up and enjoy her as much as I enjoyed the old eve. She was one of my first champion in the game, it's not far fetched to say that i've made it this far playing the game because of playing eve. Now if you're curious and look at my match history don't bother i'll tell you straight up. I haven't played the new eve and that's aside the point of this thread as i'm not complaining about her. I knew old eve would be gone, and on that note i refused to play her the last few weeks before she was deleted, this was a first time for me doing this. Normally i play the champion one last time before he/she is reworked but this time i didn't. It was special, I chose to say goodbye in my own memories rather than playing the game gripping to the thoughts of not seeing her the same again. Instead i made amends early and well. I used to play her mid, AP assassin mid. It was all about mind games, i used to trick mid laner and jungler as to where i was going when i left the lane and either caught 1 of them unguarded or walked the other way to gank the lane they didn't expect me to. Often time i played her as i felt Rengar should be played all along. A hunter, a stalker. I just followed the ADC's around until they were distanced enough not to be saved by my lust for blood. It was quite enjoyable and fun, i had high success playing her this way and I mainly love and like to play tanky or cc champions that peel or annoy the enemy team. But eve brought out my secret lust for killing and enjoyment of it. At times i've followed a champion around for minutes before striking them just enjoying their walk and how jumpy and nervous the player got knowing i was around the corner but not knowing here. Anyways I hope this new eve is as enjoyable for someone out there as much as she was enjoyable for us eve players. Strange to say this but there's a new generation of eve players to come, and i hope she serves you guys as-well as she served us. For those out there that main or love to play a champion that's not really popular atm or have an outdated kit (cough cough Volibear you know when riot is too quiet about a champion for too long something is up. Just saying ), eventually it will be your turn too so enjoy them while they last. So Good luck new evelynn mains!

I hear you, that's how I felt about the first iteration of eve. I was an avid eve player for both iterations, but the 2nd version always felt like an imposter to me. I still definitely enjoyed her and she was my 2nd most played champion since season 2.

I loved the old eve's ult, diving under turrets and getting spikes of health back, and waiting until the last 0.2 sec while someone was recalling right next to them and hate spike spamming while they're in shop menu.

I haven't tried new Eve yet and relearning her looks like a daunting task, but I will wait for the popularity spike to go down a bit so I can play her consistently. She probably needs tweaks like the 2nd one did, but she looks like she can pull off some fun mindgames as well.

This is about how I felt about the old Eve, too. Her original Ult was one of my favorite parts about here. She wasn't innately tanky, but with your Ult heal and a bit of finesse you could pull of some pretty amazing stuff. Using Cleanse and then bailing out mid-fight, only to come back when cooldowns were up and pull off a double Hate Spike stun? Polish off the low one for a heal, then go toe to toe with the other guy.

Her Ult shield served sort of the same purpose, but it was purely an all-in tool. It felt like all the nuance had been removed.

This new Eve though?

Ugh.

Eve has always been about capitalizing on enemy mistakes and moving in at JUST the right moment. This new Eve's target-selection is about on par with Udyr. Her W announces your intent and spoils any opening you might have. Why does it even exist?

Exactly the reason i haven't played the new eve. I'm waiting for that hype to die down and i guess for the rebalance to kick in if they feel she's too strong or too weak or just need tweaks. After all that I'll be able to try her and play her without having to argue or dealing with the constant dodges because someone else took her or the jg.

I'm strongly preferring new eve to old eve. I still respect your opinion though.
