This power creep is getting out of hand. Stop making so many new heroes!

I main jungle and support. The junglers I enjoy playing are Skarner and Udyr. But with all these new heroes being manufactured in mass quantities, I feel like many older champs have a hard time keeping up with the meta. Had a game a few days ago on an alternate account where I was playing. The opposing jungler was Kayn and the support was Rakan. And sure, I beat Kayn every time in 1v1 situations, so I'm not saying he's OP, but man was he annoying to fight against. He and Rakan had all these mobility tools while all I could do was press E and run towards them. I felt absolutely useless.

We won the game in the end, carried by our Vayne. But when it came to lategame teamfights, the only function I could serve was as cannon fodder for our Vayne, since the enemy had loads of mobility and peeling.

What do you think of the current power creep that is going on? I for one wish that Riot would slow down a bit with making new champs, and shift some focus onto VGU's instead. I mean, look at the latest VGUs, WW, Galio and Urgot. While their kits got modernized, they still have clear strengths and weaknesses. But the new champs however like Rakan and Kayn are just a pain to deal with if you're playing some older champs like Udyr or Skarner.

Anyone else feel like this power creep is getting out of hand?

Champion releases have slowed down to a crawl compared to previous years. Hell if it weren't for all the buzz about reworks, some would argue that Riot is releasing new champions too slowly.

Lolalytics' take on the issue. Here's champion.gg

Honestly the funniest thing is that whenever somebody mentions any form of creep, the vast majority of the time older champions or champions contrary to what they're complaining about are top performers statistically. Last season everyone was complaining about mobility creep especially, but whenever I'd check, it's totally immobile champions topping the charts.

Oh yes, an anecdote. Do tell, I'm sure it's very relevant.

Not counting Kayn's ult, unless Kayn was using his Q away from you, he only has one actual mobility spell. Furthermore, Rakan's entire schtick is bouncing around providing disruption, at the cost of all he can really do is bounce around and provide disruption. On the one hand, you're exaggerating, on the other hand, you're complaining about the one area that champ is supposed to be suited for. It's like complaining you can't 1v1 Xin Zhao.

If you're a proponent for an older style of League of Legends, isn't this exactly what you want? Be cannon fodder for your ADC?

The power creep isn't real sans a couple of extreme exceptions.

See first point.

Galio was complained about and abused for having too many strengths for no weaknesses, just pointign that out to you. Funny enough too that these are actual examples of mobiity creep.

I feel like they're just painful to deal with if you just want to complain.

You already asked this question.

Kayn and rakan are underpowered.

Well, another reason why I wish Riot would slow down with spamming new champs is that it makes my ranked experience bad. Instead of banning the champ that counters me, I'm forced to ban the new champs because of people wanting to try the new champ for the first time in ranked
