would you put support as your secondary

Very Hard Engage··42 votes·5,134 views

if it meant you were guaranteed your primary role ≥ 50% of the time?

i would definitely be a mid/sup if it didn't grant me support more often than mid.

Am I the only one who always gets primary more then 50% of the time? Or is this only an issue when you put support as secondary?

next 10 games, put MAIN/support, count how many games you get support.

got my main 100% of the time

(does fill count as support if you main is support?)

Fondling Gems2 votes

I never get autofilled because you can't autofill a filler.

ChaoticPinecone1 votes

As a support/fill player, I dont even know if youre kidding or not. For me, I have that little "You are Autofill protected" notice every game.

I've been putting bot/support and get bot the majority of the time. It's the one (and ONLY) thing I actually appreciate about the current Meta.

LightIsMyPath3 votes

Lol true enough no one wants ADC right now

korppi tuoni1 votes

Me too, in fact the current meta is why I go bot/support now, I was a support/bot but it meant I kept getting an "autofilled" adc. I can deal with an autofilled "support" (basically just another mid) stealing kills and cs but not an adc that goes 10 cs and 1/7/0 kda at 10 minutes.

My issue now is that I keep getting autofilled Junglers (wtf). My ranked experience is truly ridiculous right now, last year I climbed to silver and maintained a 59% win rate on my main, this year I've gone only backwards (just dropped to bronze 4 because of a bad string of total idiots, autofilled junglers and an afk top laner as the cherry on top).

even tho i main supp, i do go top primary/supp secondary if hyper tilted. And i get primary role (top) anytime autofill's not activated. And i get secondary role (support) anytime autofill's active. Top = 66.67% Support = 33.33%

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

I've not been having any issue getting my main role (whether jungle or top) when I have support as my secondary.

Ahristocats5 votes

changed my roles to top and sup secondary i get my primary role 100% of the time cause top is the least played role in high elo

support is one of the highest role played

Ralanr4 votes

In ranked I put support as my secondary so that my team is less likely to have an autofilled support.

Zezockary3 votes

I do mid/sup and I get mid most of the time.

Big Lincoln3 votes

I already do

and I still get my primary role more often

when I queue Bot/Support, I only get support at ghost hours.

#ADC in 2017

fk what reedit / another other meme says about ADCs, people in bronze don't know enough on how to control their champs anyways, just have to outplay all the threats.

Plus lethality builds kind of offset the "lack of agency" feeling.

Plus who says I only play ADCs in bot lane?

It's not what reddit and bronzes say. It's what diamonds and challengers are saying. This didn't just "occur" because of a meme. It's a real thing. Adcs feel like shit to play

Kei1431 votes

it is precisely what the diamonds+ say that influences the thoughts of bronze.

In bronze you do the basics well (CSing / trading, staying alive, map awareness, map control) and you'll be fine and don't necessarily need this "4-item power spike".

Even more true when no one wants to build tank.

i usually que top/autofill and i get top 60%of the time. altho sometimes i'm forced to dodge cause i end up mid and i hate playing mid with all the mages somehow oneshoting people with half an item even tho i had more preassure on them early.

Jofeyy2 votes

Tbh I just want the option to select a role that i DONT want to play and fill everything else. I just dont want to play jungle. I dont mind any of the other roles.

I'd honestly probably queue up for support sometimes but because auto fill exists, i just let the system force me there. (usually when i'm not in the mood for it sadly)

Did the change the autofill bit? (ie. AFAIK it still "protets" after you play support rather than simply if you're autofilled) If not, you should queue support when you DO feel ok with it, then you'll be "autofill protected" for a few games after so (theoretically) then you play support when you're good with it and don't when you're not.

Dreadlocks1 votes

It's only 3 games of protection mate.. i get autofilled like once every 30..

O_o I question whether you'd "queue for support sometimes" if its a bother to get put in there 1 game out of every 30.

Yeah it's a mind game for me..

I run into this prob a lot as a 2nd support main. I try to queue as Jungle/Support, but it seems like I get support 70% of the time. Which is fine most of the time.. until I go 5-6 games w/o seeing my main role and causing me to shift to Jungle/Top just in hopes that I will get jungle, and if I get top try to trade.

This, I'm better at jungle than any other role, and i'd say second best at either support or mid, but if i q JG/support I'll get support the vast majority of the time and that just blows.

seasaltcake1 votes

I just main support just so I don't need to worry about not getting my role. Funny thing is, I actually got my secondary one time in ranked and it has been literally months since I played top and I was paired with a Jayce. Needless to say I got crushed.

notice me Sin pi1 votes

once happened to me too and got my secondary role top lane. But someone in my team dodged. I do know how to play top lane tho.

LightIsMyPath1 votes

I already try to queue as mid/supp.. Then eventually I get the 6/7 games in a row as support and switch secondary.. Until I terribly feed in an off role so I put support again.. And the cycle continues..

metalhydra2731 votes

Since s7 started i rarely have been getting supp as secondary. Only got it twice in about 15 games and I have jg in my primary. Am I just really lucky or are you really unlucky.

It Hertz When IP1 votes

No, because it's currently my primary. What I WANT is to be able to queue Support/Fill without getting jungle as the second role.

Dolasaur2 votes

I was in a similar situation; I like filling, and I'm okay with that being support 90% of the time, but I hated top. I suck at it.

But when I get top, my team carries me. I'm 4/4 top this season, despite playing like pure trash in 3 of the games.

You just need to get luckier with your teammates when you get jungle! :D

Bloodhawk951 votes

I get my primary 95% of the time. But i main support so yeah.

Leo10241 votes

please, before autofill having support primary or secondary automatically meant you were support, pick fill? support

at least now even if i put support/mid i'll get mid sometimes, the system is so much better now

Isildurian1 votes

Four games last night as Fill. 1 mid 1 adc 1 top and 1 support.

Stop exagerating

idontgiveabother1 votes

I main mid/jg currently. I have thought about trying support but if I do mid/support I'm rarely going to get mid again. Its disheartening because support seems like an interesting role but not enough to where I wanna play it almost all the time.

DarkRitual1 votes

Then switch between mid/jg and mid/support roles. The beauty of having three roles is getting to choose which one you don't want to do (barring autofill) in a game.

Sp33d Zer01 votes

If I got my main role 70% of the time yes.

warpenguin5551 votes

Hell yeah i would. I don't mind support at all but I don't want to play it every game

ÈvilMorty1 votes

its usually a 70-30 split when i put support as a secondary and i dont mind it

RavenMagus1 votes

I get mid most games, even when I put mid/fill.

DrCyanide1 votes

In pick order I use to go Mid/Sup, just because I like playing mages and it was fun. When the New Champion Select came out, I stopped because I don't want to always get Support (plus I was getting OK at ADC and my wife mains Support).

I don't feel too bad about not putting support down, since I play a lot of Blind Pick and go pure Fill there most of the time. Interestingly enough, it looks like you only get Support between 35-40% of the time when you're the last one to call a role, which makes Blind Pick Fill more or less Random.

Who is Taliyah1 votes

I actually queued up mid/support before I found out how well Taliyah bot apc works. I got midlane like 60% of the time. They really balanced the chance to get your primary role.

Sagan Forever1 votes

Yes, currently I prime sup when I want to play support and then prime top/jg when I do not.

You can't be autofilled if you only Queue fill

I wouldnt,if i wanted to go supp even a slight bit, then i'd just put it as primary.

vampirekid131 votes

people that said they would put support as secondary would probably just dodge if they get their secondary role. LOL.

SanKakU1 votes

I definitely get jungle more often if I put support/fill as my secondary. And I suspect it's because there are so many people being autofilled. Guess that means there are way more people playing mid than jungle. Which is surprising to me because I've found mid can be very challenging not unlike jungle and don't understand why so many mid lane players don't like to play jungle. I guess they can't be bothered to learn a different type of champion and/or get new rune pages.
