Here's why Malzahar will not be reverted
I can see the downvotes already but read first and reply why you disagree.
Malzahar was and still is not a healthy champion. No matter what he was - he was not fun to play against. He was super oppressive in lane and the only part in his kit that can be dodged is his silence.
The previous version of Malzahar was so disgustingly broken Riot had to nerf him to this state. You guys say you want the old Malzahar back but don't realize that you forced Riot to nerf him. Taking him as a mage support in bot-lane is the COMMUNITY'S FAULT. We all KNEW it was broken and decided to abuse that fact.
Why was Malzahar so broken as a mage support while Lux isn't? Lux support popularity started this "bring mage to botlane" and "lul adc in 2k17" meme. Lux has skillshots that can be dodged. The previous version of Malzahar was way too strong to be a botlane support. You wanted him to be a support? :) There you go, we nerfed him so he's balance as a support.
Riot nerfs many champions and reworks them to help the community. No matter how you look at it, Malzahar was a champion that was too oppressive in the state he once was. It's for the community's sake.
Now, everybody is crying about how their favorite champion is so terrible now and they can't abuse his previous overpowered state. You guys are not looking at the issue.
"I want old Malz back." "REVERT MALZ"
No, the whole point was to stop Malzahar from being a broken champion that had counterplay.
Here's when Riot would actually rework Malzahar to a better state: When they or the community find a way to keep his theme[in order to respect his mains] and have him be a healthy champion.
Here would what I would want for Malzahar: His silence to do more damage. His minions to be summoned less often but last longer. [Thus, he must set up. E.G. Save up a stack of 3 minions and summon them all]. His ultimate being a skillshot. Instead of him point and clicking and suppressing you, what happens is that a pool opens and there's a moment a player can flash out or use a skill to escape. It can be a small window but it's still a counterplay opportunity. His point and click space aids shouldn't stay. Instead I would prefer a passive where Malzahar does repeated true damage the longer he's in combat as the player is being damaged by his "aids".
