Im on a winning streak so i am getting paired with tougher opponents? Questions on Matchmaking

i got paired against quite a few gold+ players from last season even getting a plat player sprinkled in here and there because i have been winning a bunch of games. im now in promos and im afraid that matchmaking is going to completely reck me. i mean its cool because im gaining 32lp per win but what is it going to prove if im trying to hurry my way out of silver but i get demolished by a bunch of players who are gold or in rare cases plat?

what im wondering is how the matchmaking system works with winning streaks. i was thinking it could just be because of rank resets but it seems like the competition is getting exponentially harder as i win more games back to back
