Is Blue Build EZ Viable?

I played a Dominion game the other day, and I got paired up against a Diamond 1 Ezreal. He went blue build EZ and it seemed to be working pretty well for him, he was doing a ton of damage and I couldn't even dream of getting anywhere near him (I was Renekton). I decided to try out blue build EZ myself, and I've played like 7 games with blue build Ezreal so far. In all of them I had a really good KDA, but ended up losing. I haven't gotten a single win with it yet. I feel like even though you're ridiculously safe, your late game damage is mediocre, and eventually their carry outscales me.

Is this true or am I just bad with Ezreal?

It is viable, and can work quite well. It gives you a very strong and extremely safe midgame that you can abuse to get far ahead. You will be weaker at 6 items than any other carry due to cheap items and a lack of multiplicative stats (so once you reach 6 items, you should begin transitioning to a traditional ADC EZ build), but before that you should be as strong as any other carry with a similar gold total.

Blue build Ezreal is still viable. When you go blue build, I'm fairly certain it is because you want to kite around the enemy team. Otherwise I think it would be better to go traditional ADC build on Ezreal.

It just depends on the situation I guess.

item 3004 item 3078 item 3031 item 3072 item 3035 item 3158 deals crazy amounts of damage and you will actually outscale a lot of adcs late game. you can go item 3025 instead of triforce for easier kiting and armor, but less damage. I wouldn't recommend item 3508, but in the end it's up to you. you also might have to trade one of these items out for a defence item in some games.

I don't even see anyone going normal adc in high ranked games when I watch.

also, with ezreal, you have to be able to land most to all of your Q's and play safe. don't E in unless you are sure you are safe to get out again.

True, better in dominion because short games and more gold Generation.

Your team has to work with you, because you don't really want to hard engage. You just want to stay at max range, poke and kite forever. It's tricky to pull off in Summoners Rift games. Maybe try it in a team builder until you understand the in's and out's of the build?

It's a different playstyle. To outperform other carries you out position and kite, you can't just mindless AA.

People will complain and say you deal no damage and you are useless. I beg to differ, and I will leave this here to support my opinion http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1800601131/33511062?tab=overview

It's viable, though I wouldn't pick it as my go-to build for Ezreal . As you mentioned, you lose a huge amount of damage in exchange for your safety and control, and while that can work if your team lacks peel, it's not going to help you out that much if you have a solid front line. If you have at least one tank on your team, or enough crowd control to feel relatively safe, just go for a more standard damage build, and you'll be a lot more powerful.
