Karthus' Q lets him freely attack enemy champions without taking minion aggro because it's an AOE

Which means he can freely zone (and outdamage) any champion in the entire game with no repercussions whatsoever. He's been recieving a ton of buffs this season, and is WAY out of line after the AP item update.

Karthus is an incredibly mana hungry, immobile mage. His Q has a long delay on it and deals significantly less damage if he hits multiple targets. If his Q drew aggro, enemies could wayyyy too easily deny him farm by walking into it, halving the damage to minions and causing him to take minion damage. If you are being out farmed and zoned by Karthus, don't farm out away from minions where he can deal high damage to you.

He's got loads of weaknesses, so I would hardly call him out of line, and when he didn't have the buffs he got this season he was completely invalid. He's in a decent place right now, so I don't think he needs any kind of nerfing.

It’s really easy to sidestep too.

You can dodge it or stand in your minions so you take half damage

Half damage is still quite a lot of damage coupled with basic attacks. It's not a problem for mages, but for melee champions its so oppressive you can't even farm under your turret (his Q can hit you slightly BEHIND your tower without putting Karthus in its range.)

if you're standing in your minions you are in range to trade. It's very easy to win a trade when his Q is hitting you for half damage. Most champs win that trade.

The problem is you have an aversion to taking any damage at all. You allow yourself to be zoned because you are not willing to trade into even a half damage karthus Q.

The problem is, as a melee champion, i have to walk into his E AOE to trade - and likely away from minions as well, where Karthus can simply spam his Q at his own feet to guarantee he will hit me if i want to actually damage him. The only exception is Irelia because of her extremely high attack range.

Whenever people say "as a melee champion here's what happens in this matchup" it's like they're saying the champ they're playing has no abilities and only a melee attack.

My advice? Stop playing Udyr in mid lane.

He picked Karthus top. I was 40 cs down by the 6 minute mark, because i had to recall four times to avoid dying. Karthus did not run out of mana even once despite spamming his Q non-stop whenever i got in range.

lmao I just checked you on OP.GG. Was it the one where you played Skarner? Looks like you traded kills with him a lot. Skarner doesn't seem like a good choice vs a ranged champ. There isn't any data for Skarner in lane, only jungle.

This is literally the type of disingenuous "as melee vs this champ" argument I was talking about. You brought a melee jungler with barely any tools for laning against a middle of the pack ranged laner.

Now imagine you played that shit into Jayce or Quinn. Laning against Karthus is nothing compared to them.

I agree his Q needs to draw aggro, because it allows to both wave-clear and deny farm, and his ult needs some tuning down (lol I've seen some Karthus with predator one-shot squishies with just R, not even using funneling strategy)

Sure, he could poke with it... Then again, he also needs to cs somehow and he maybe needs mana to at least cast his w when he gets ganked
