Riot, I would be grateful if you let us move around masteries and rune pages!

Hello from Texas!

So you know how when you go to your profile and click the masteries tab, it shows you all the masteries on the top as (1,2,3,4.....20)? It would be nice if I could move a later-created mastery page (example: page 17) to a different location (say, closer to page 4). The reason for this is that I like to keep my pages organized and somewhat "categorized." My pages 1-3 are generally for ADCs, while 4-6 are for mages, 7-9 for [21/9 mastery] junglers, and so on.

Now, when I decide to create a new page for a mage, it goes to the very end (example: page 20). If I wanted it to be near pages 4-6 (mages), I would have to recreate page 7, thus causing a domino effect and making me change pages 8, 9, etc... As you can imagine, this is very burdensome for me. I would like a feature to simply drag my page 20 in front of page 7, and the rest getting scooted over.

I have the same issue with Rune pages, since I like to keep them in categories also. Maybe also for item sets?

I won't claim to have OCD (since I know that people who do have it suffer immensely and have much worse scenarios), but I just like to be very organized, and this addition would help me a lot. I know that it isn't a huge issue, and probably only a few other summoners share my problem, but if Riot has the time and the resources, I think it would be a beneficial feature to the game, although small.

Thanks for reading.

The community has been begging for this for years, and for good reason. So, what's the good reason why this hasn't been added yet? It can't be that hard to implement, but the feature would surely be appreciated. As much as I'd like to see this become a reality, my advice is to not get your hopes too high. Maybe this will happen one day, but unfortunately, probably not any time soon.

As a basic programming argument for why tabs cannot be moved around by default, the server database structure is presented to you as is. I can tell you that what you ask for would take one day to complete - coding, testing, testing again. The solution could be programmed into the server as an extra data group that saves the tabbed pages order per account, or as an association file put into the user's game directory. The latter would mean you would have to set up the order for each device that runs the game. The fact that this simple addition has not been done yet is already an answer to your request.

I would actually welcome this more than a new champion release.

1000 times this. It's so annoying that we can't do it.

it annoys me but i'm too lazy to change them all

Also, create a CLEAR PAGE and CLEAR ALL button for both mastery and rune pages. That would be infinitely helpful!

I would definitely love this option. An alternative is to make 5-10 pages for each category, and leave some blank to fill in later.

Just take 15 minutes to make 20 pages total

You're not the only one. I think about 90% of the people would really like this QoL update.

For those who really really want it, there's a script made a while ago by a random dude and I used it and it works. The downside is that you have to enter your username and password in the script so you should do so at your own risk. If you have RP on your account, I personally wouldn't do this but since I don't, I did it and no complications so far.

Honestly, it took Riot a bit of time to save masteries on their side instead of having us make new ones on each computer. While writing code to simply be able to reorder a list is easy, I doubt they are working with well made code to just go in there and add whatever they want without screwing something up. They also have to update the UI to include that option. Right now, I'm only aware of one drag and drop option and that's for runes.

I have the same thinking as the OP. Rito pls

JinHikari5/29/2015, 1:27:29 AM1 votes

This.

100% this.

I play a lot of champions that can flex where they go (MonkeyKing Volibear Olaf ), and from time to time I take up their flex only to find that I don't have a master page for that role. I make one, but having Top Wukong separated from Jungle Wukong by four pages makes it irritating. Naming them helps, but I'd like to have a bit more control over how things are organized without having to delete all my pages and remake them in a new order.

LateCustomer5/29/2015, 11:18:52 PM1 votes

The ability to reorganize rune and mastery pages would be great. Also, the ability to record games using a Riot approved way would be great too. May be a while before we see either, if at all.

Supp Hero5/29/2015, 11:41:42 PM1 votes

While I don't know how their code works, I'm a programmer and I'm certain this would be fairly easy to implement.

But at the same time, Masteries are really not that complex.. there are only so many variations with extremely minor differences, which is probably a big part of why they haven't done it yet.

If you have more than say 12 ( 3 each for AP, AD, Tank, Support ) mastery pages, the differences between a new one and one you already have is probably extremely small, 1-5% difference in 1-3 stats.

OR....OR. you can keep one mastery page and remember the masteries for role that game.

Nyaboron5/29/2015, 11:32:43 AM1 votes

The login feature barely works currently, I can't imagine a drag and drop would be even semifunctional without me picking up a rune page and all of my runes being lost.
