Idea for making old champions more vocal and alive
I've noticed that a lot of old champions in this game have very little to say when you're not playing against them. Champions like Ezreal and Kennen make all kinds of grunts and yells, and will only ever speak their voice when they are played as (speaking to the player) or when an emote is used. Most Reworks and New Champions have a lot of lines of dialogue for when they use abilities, and it makes the game feel more ALIVE.
I thought to provide some examples on iconic abilities that need a little more of a visual queue. First up, here are two recent examples of Riot doing this that have worked well:
Recieved something like this with the Juggernaut update; his passive quotes that were normally only spoken to the player was able to be played to the vicinity whenever his Passive was activated. It was intentionally modified and made louder to provide an impressive sound cue.
Recieved something like this too, with her Passive making her say "Boom, Headshot."
Here are some of my suggestions on where this can go, using these champions' limited quote selection:
- When Jax uses his Counter Strike (E) ability, he will say "Who wants a piece of the champ?", "Now it's my turn!", or "Who's next?!"
- When Kayle uses her Righteous Fury (E) ability, she will say "Your time has come" or "Who's next?"
- Move her seemingly unheard of Ultimate quotes to "Escape on low HP" quotes. "Too easy" and "Unmatched" seem like a good fit. Alternatively, make one of these two quotes play after a delay when she activates her Q mark with an autoattack.
- Potentially give Talon the laugh from his Ultimate to play whenever he kills someone. Let Veigar laugh whenever he kills someone as well. This seems like a good addition because they often only kill one target at a time!
