Well they added new keystones that proc from your ability power. DFT or Thunderlords.

Because the main reason it was there was to help mages tower push. Since they added in an AP component to magic damage on turrets, it wasn't needed anymore

They have said that when they add more keystones they will consider adding it back. Our current options may have been the better choice for the partially finished mastery trees.
