Alright Rito - About Quinn

Anonagon··1 votes·695 views

So three days ago the following changes for Quinn made it to PBE:

  • Attack Range increased to 550 from 525.
  • Movement speed lowered to 330 from 335
  • Blinding Assault (Q) blind duration lowered to 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 from 1.5 at all ranks.
  • Tag Team (R) significantly changed.

First Cast: Valor replaces Quinn on the battlefield as a mobile melee attacker. Valor can move through units and gains +80/100/120% Movement Speed, >>decreased gradually to +5/10/15% when in combat. Second Cast: Quinn returns, replacing Valor on the battlefield, and also resetting the cooldown on Heightened Senses. Now lasts until cancelled. Mana cost lowered to 80 from 100 Cooldown now 40/20/1 from 140/110/80

The next day, the changes to Q and R were reverted.

As a Quinn main, it was nice to see that she was at least getting some attention, but Riot really made some mistakes here:

  • First off: Where were the bugfixes / AA animation cleanups? Quinn shouldn't have seen any actual changes without getting bugfixes and animation cleanups first. Her AA animations are easily some of the worst of any ADC, a point made much worse when compared to Lucian, who was released shortly after Quinn. Quinn players have been requesting a AA animation cleanup from her release, yet someone Riot doesn't get it.
  • Secondly, Why increase her range? She doesn't need it, and it would feel like homogenizing her. Also, no doubt it will annoy top laners that a "ranged cancer" now has even more range. Why not fix some of the other annoying silly gates to her power, like her mana costs, and the fact that her ultimate's steroid is dependent on ranks in W? I have never had problems with Quinn's range, but the loss of movement speed really irks me, especially when part of Quinn's identity is her mobility.
  • Lastly, why revert those Q and R changes? Those seemed to be exactly what people were asking for in Quinn. A more usable but still highly unique ultimate, and oppressiveness against melees in top lane. Even if they weren't meant to make it to PBE, you could at least leave them on there for a bit so that some Quinn players get to test it and see if they like it.

So Riot, please, revert the range and movespeed changes, but bring back those Q and R changes. While you are at it, fix her animations and remaining bugs, and make her attack speed as Valor steroid scale with ranks in R, not W.

Lol 1 second 120% MS toggle That wouldn't be the most annoying thing to deal with XD

Except tag team has a cast time and a mana cost. Of course the thing would need number tuning, and I could see 1 second being a bit too ridiculous, but then again, mobility is kinda Quinn's identity as an ADC.

It's actually a really good change, all they would need to do is make Valor consume harrier procs.

I'd actually they rather give valor a different passive. Something cool and thematic like having true sight or an extended sight range into the FoW.

I'd like Valor to just have a passive. Maybe sighting targets in your vision marks them with harrier(true vision) for the next 7 seconds.

yeah. I'd always been fine with Valor not having a passive when Skystrike existed, but without it I think he might need one.

I assume that if they made the switch not everything would stay the exact same.

I would miss the execute damage on her ult, personally. The changes would have been something I could adjust to (constant AS steroid and amazing roaming, hello sexy.) But, it's still a big damage/finisher loss.

Just because they removed it for now doesn't mean they're not still playing with her ult. Just, this iteration may not have been right.

If they did remove the finisher from her ult, I'd like to see valor get an actual passive, preferably involving Quinn, like Quinn utilizes Valor.

I'm assuming they pulled them because they either didn't work at all in internal testing, or there were some serious issues with some of the things they hadn't ironed out yet.

I'm perfectly fine with them pulling it if it were internal testing issues. I am simply expressing my desire to be able to play with that kind of ult and see if I like it. Its a cool design, and very fitting with Quinn's playstyle and identity. I wouldn't miss the execute because, while it looked cool, it barely tickled enemies, and all of Quinn's damage is in her AAs.

Especially in early trades, her ult has won me the fight countless times.

What concerns me is how mobile she would be with just a one second cooldown on her ult. even if she was in combat, where the movespeed is supposed to decay, she could pop valor for the speed, pop back to quinn to vault for distance, pop back to valor to refresh the speed... It would be a very strong escape mechanism for her. Of course, that's only at 16+, but it's still pretty insane.

Rioter tweet about the 'accidental changes'

"She isn't being changed. ;o It was just an accident having these changes go onto PBE."

Personally how can it be an accident? They look really well done up changes..

I really hate the fact that they took out the R and Q. They took out the range buff too now apparently. Give her something... like she is a subject that no rioters talk about... ever. Now taken out the buffs. I am sad to see it as a quinn main :(

The range and MS changes are back on the PBE, meaning this thread is once again relevant.
