Let Nocturne BE NOCTURNE!

Riot, this is time to be brave.** The community has come out with FANTASTIC Nocturne ideas aimed to finally make him his true self, since right now his theme and gameplay are completely disconnected.** Let me sum them up, for them to not be forgotten:

Q: when it hits a wall, creates dark passages that only nocturne can cross. W: instead of atkspeed, proccing the spell shield gives nocturne temporary invisibility and a burst of movement speed. E: channelling E gradually reduces the target's vision. R: if you don't leap on a target, cooldown is reduced.

I don't want to discuss balance too much in this thread. Obviously he'll need to pay for those goodies, mainly in terms of damage (think of removing all the damage froom the ult, the E damage, the Q damage). Maybe you could finally and once for all accept and embrace a light fighter identity for our beloved nightmare bringer, with his damage and general usefulness made strictly aa-based and item reliant.

I'm really intrested in hearing other suggestions from you, community. What would make Nocturne... more Nocturne?

I think another big part of Nocturne's issues come down to him having an identity crisis of sorts; is he supposed to be a fighter or an assassin?

His CC is too unreliable (comparatively) and his damage takes too long to ramp up for him to be an assassin (unless you're like, full AD nocturne but then you still run the risk of just dying before you can kill your target most of the time, because he's auto reliant and doesn't have many tools to help him survive)

I feel that once we decide what he's intended to be, we can go from there.

I totally agree. Right now he's sitting on a considerable power budget in terms of steroids and good scalings, but his kit is not cohesive at all. He synergizes a lot with raw AD, supporting a burst playstyle. He has crazy atkspeed steroids, screaming dps fighter. He wants to wait for his fear to get off, but at the same time he wants to unload everything on the enemy's face asap. Then there is his theme, which i identify in "nighmare-ish pursuer", and finds proper expression only in his Q trail mechanic and his amazing ultimate.

I think light figher fits a lot, and it is a good starting point.

The shadow trail is really cool to be honest.
