How come no matter how much damage i deal, i will never be able to instantly kill Zyra's plants?

Even if i can one-shot Zyra, i can't ever instantly kill her plants. What gives? It doesn't matter if you use basic attacks or spells - they will NEVER die on the first hit unless you're playing Miss Fortune.

And why don't they provide any lifesteal when basic attacking them?

How come Draven's spinning axes spin off Zyra's plants, but do not kill them instantly like Miss Fortune's basic attacks do?

And no, "pick miss fortune" is not counterplay. That's a counterpick.

Because her plants are designed to require 2 ranged hits or 1 melee hit, with some exceptions like Miss Fortune's Love Tap.

Instakilling plants as most ranged champions would just further invalidate her kit.

Edit: On the bright side, you can use her plants to charge up your Q's on Draven.

Just like the other said, instakilling them makes her pretty much useless. She needs to have them have a little bit of life to get off her damage.

You can insta kill her plants with many skills. You play draven, who don't actually have a non-AOE skill.

Try yasuo or irelia, zyra's plants only provide extra utility for them.
