Every patch this season has consistently made the game worse
This season is arguably the worst in the history of the game. Everyone has voiced their distaste with it, from pro players, to redditors, to board members. It's a catastrophe. The game has never been so imbalanced.
My thoughts in this post will undoubtedly get lost in the tsunami of criticism, hate, and vitriol being thrown at Riot, but I do not care. I have to get these thoughts out, if for no other reason, than to untangle the web of thoughts occupying my mind. I am a mess of emotion, and putting pen to paper will at least help.
I dont want to beat a dead horse, especially when I can not do so as eloquently and professionally as Scarra. But he is absolutely, 100% correct: There is currently way too much damage and nothing to mitigate it. Every trade, no matter how brief, is life or death. Every fight I am surprised by the amount of damage I take. I've been playing this game for years, so I have a rough estimate of how much damage every champion does. Scarra more so than me, because he's actually good at the game, and being a pro player probably has access to more data. So when long time players say they are surprised by something, that is not a good sign.
Even assuming damage creep is addressed and corrected, it will not solve the problem. The problem is a mix of things that can only be summarized as: season 8 is a failure.
Everything.
Every change has deteriorated fun, balance, player retention, counterplay, etc...
The whole thing is an unfixable mess that can only be corrected with a clean slate. If, like me, you are no longer having fun, and enjoying the game, come back next season.
In leagues current state, it is irredeemable.
